Oh, Waco. Never thought I'd be nostalgic for you. It really is a pretty little town - hilly in areas, nice areas along the Brazos River and Lake Waco, Cameron Park is gorgeous and they've got some great architecture. Shame the tornado in the 1950s destroyed so many of the buildings downtown.

WHAT GREAT PHOTOS!!!

I am a student at Baylor University and see all those buildings all the time. Really like your pics of the quadrangle and ALICO building. the ALICO building, as I am sure a lot of HAIF'ers are not aware, when completed way back when, was the tallest building west of the Mississippi River. Who would have ever thought! Downtown Waco is coming back, bars and restaurants are going up everywhere. Big time apartment complexes with restaurants, grocery stores, etc on the base levels are taking off. It seems like a new bar or store is opening up all the time. There is also a brand new Waco Chamber of Commerce building.

I wish you had seen the famous Suspension bridge, Texas Ranger museum and Dr. Pepper Museum (Waco is home to Dr. Pepper)... Worth coming back for those.

If you get a chance to go to "Piano Man" on a Thursday night at Treffs, amazing stuff and a ton of fun. Rivals, or better than any "Piano Man" at any bar I've ever seen.
