Have you ever done this?

Some people believe our lives are profoundly influenced by whatever pop song was #1 on the day we were born.

My number #1's are:

'You're So Vain' by Carly Simon in the US

'Long Haired Lover From Liverpool' by Little Jimmy Osmond in the UK

'Ben' by Michael Jackson in Australia

See which songs you get

' I'm Telling You Now' by Freddie and the Dreamers. I don't even know who that is.

Out of curiosity I also looked up the date my divorce was final: Get Busy by Sean Paul. That's more like it!

Oy...

Boogie Oogie Oogie - Taste Of Honey

That just sounds funny. You're a disco baby!

US: Another Brick In The Wall (part ll) - Pink Floyd

UK: Working My Way Back To You - The Detroit Spinners

AUS: Crazy Little Thing Called Love - Queen

'In the Year 2525' by Zager and Evans

That song kind of creeps me out!

Well, what's your song, Red? :D

Mr. Blue by The Fleetwoods. Lame. Not Mr. Blue Sky by ELO, or anything by Fleetwood Mac, or anything else tolerable. Never even heard of it.

Seeing all these "birthday songs" that were playing during my college years makes me feel old. Come on, Pop Muzik and Eddy Grant? Reminds me of the playlist at Cooters.

Surely they're naming songs using their highschool graduation date.

For me, hs would be Call Me - Blondie.

Wow, did the baby's (last year), and validated that I haven't listened to anything pop for a very long time. At least a decade.

UK - Leon Jackson - When You Believe (???)

US - No One - Alicia Keys (hey, at least I've heard of her. Not the song though)

Aus - Apologize - Timbaland featuring OneRepublic (????)

The Fleetwoods did Come Softly. I've never heard Mr. Blue either

EDIT: Now I've got Come Softly stuck in my head. (Dum-Dum. This Song is so Dumb-be-dooby-dumb)

Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon & Garfunkel

I can't even stand to LOOK at Garfunkel ! He gives me the Heebadee Jeebees!

Let It Be - The Beatles

At least a little better in Australia at the time for me.

My wife on the other hand, has one of my alltime FAVORITE songs, and really says alot about her.

Aquarius / Let The Sunshine In - 5th Dimension

Red, you have heard Mr.Blue. Garth Brooks did a cover of it, years back.

"My Sharona" - The Knack

I've always associated that song with "Reality Bites" - I knew it was older, but guess I was a little too young to enjoy it the first time it was a hit :)

LOL...I just did my g'fs: "The Streak" - Ray Stevens

She was not impressed. Did that song actually hit #1??

May-December relationship spotted.

Not embarrassed to date myself. I can proudly say it was:

It's Now or Never - Elvis Presley!

It's now or never,

come hold me tight

Kiss me my darling,

be mine tonight

Tomorrow will be too late,

it's now or never

My love won't wait.
