editor
In the ether surrounding the tiffle over whether the new president should have a Blackberry or not (I vote "no"), came this interesting item from the Wall Street Journal -- it turns out there's a military-grade Blackberry-style device available. One of the Edge’s most interesting features is the button that switches from classified to unclassified functions. You can use it to place personal calls on the latter network, and then access a Department of Defense network under the secure one. Pros: - Encrypts both data and voice communication - Doesn't have to send data out of the country to communicate like all Blackberries do - Cool second screen Cons: - Runs Windows, the world's leakiest operating system - Costs $3,300. Here's a WSJ article about it: http://feeds.wsjonline.com/~r/wsj/biztech/...~3/44mELQUHQ2M/ If I had to give up my iPhone, I think that's the direction I would want to go.
