GREASER
I am sheetrocking the bathroom this weekend and not sure about the ceiling directly above the shower area. I would rather use greenboard, but I bought some hardi board already. Is hardi board actually needed. I hate that the edges arent indented to tape and float. Does it really matter which I use? cottonmather0
greenboard would be fine there.I concur and I have never even heard of putting anything but greenboard on the ceiling over the shower. Putting concrete board up there would be really hard to do, I think. BTW - you shouldn't use greenboard for the walls of the shower, but it sounds like you already know that. And normal sheetrock is fine for the rest of the ceiling away from the shower.
flipper
Why use cement if you aren't going to tile it? If you are going to tile it, why worry about taping and floating?flipper
