editor
The BackRub project was from 1996. The name change to Google happened in 1997, the same year the web site went public (google.stanford.edu), but the company, itself, wasn't founded until 1998. I know my comment makes no sense, but that fluffy lettering looks cheap and very geocities. On a side note, does anyone use geocities anymore? AOL's counterpart to Geocities called AOL Hometown will be "closed" on the 31st, so I wouldn't be surprised if Geocities follows suit soon.
