Demolition Paradise

I was thinking of actually posting to my "demolition obsession" blog here on HAIF, but this will do for now. Lisa Gray posted an article recapping three different properties:

The cheerful modern house at 1 Waverly Court, at Bissonnet near the Museum District, was a neighborhood favorite. Built in 1999, it earned architect Carrie Glassman Shoemake two awards from the American Institute of Architects, as well as a listing in Stephen Fox's Architecture Guide to Houston.

Last fall, owners Amy and Michael Cosgrove razed the house. Only 8 years old, it was in good shape.

Neighbors and architecture fans dared to hope that something equally good might rise on that lot. The Cosgroves hired architect Francois de Menil, who designed the Menil Collection's Byzantine Fresco Chapel, to create them a new house
