Two places of business off I-35 south of Austin (1985)

I lived in Outer Buda from 1985 to 1986---actually closer to Manchaca. As you drove down south on I-35 before you exited at FM 1626 there were two places of interest along the frontage road. One was a colorful looking "general store" with "antique" junk out front. [i'm being generous here.] The other was a brick prairie-style home that was a restaurant.

Anyone recall the name of either place?

Crumley's was the store, and Adam's Extract was the other.

adams extract was not a restaurant and it was surely not a prairie style home

it was the business office of adams extract and a more modern looking building with a large glass area in front with a large amount of visible foliage in front of it (behind the glass) and it was nowhere near that far south on I-35

Bingo! Crumley's was the junky-looking general store. Thanks for jogging my memory.

The Adam's Extract offices were just by the FM 1626 exit heading west toward Manchaca.

The restaurant in a prairie-style home was up the service road a bit (west side of I-35, between Crumley's and Adam's Extract).

I consulted with more than a couple friends who have lived in the area their entire lives. They were unanimous in the it was the Adam's Extract building. Also, they said that there were no restaurants in the area that were built in the prairie style. At that time, there was nothing out there except ranch land.

The map is from a few years back. So there is a lot more stuff around that wasn't there in 1985-1986. You can see two red cars in front of what was once Crumley's.
