Keep in mind the client drove the design on the second one and had started remodeling the existing house before I became involved.

I am really confused by the second one. Are those really the same house? Where did the second floor go? And were the windows on the original second floor bricked in or something? Where did the sidewalk go?

The first house is miles better. The overall design aesthetic isn't my cup of tea, but it looks to be well done and in scale with everything around it. Nice job.

Yes they are the same house. I guess I should have loaded some of the during construction pics. I added on to the front of the house so I could keep the existing roof line on the existing house and bring down the front elevation plate hight. That way it would save the client some money.

Also the all white pait was his idea.

Thats also the reason there is no sidewalk. He spent more money than he should have before I came along. So he didn't have enuff to do the flatwork.

Also the Windows on the before elevation were bricked in but they were like that in the original house with only shutters to simulate windows.

Houston designs in the 70's. They do not need to work, they just needed a sucker to buy them.

I guessed as much. It's...um...very white. Sounds like this guy was quite a character to work with.

I'm still trying to picture how weird that house must have looked before, with the fake shutters accenting its bricked-in windows.
