It looks like there are about 10,000 single family residential properties in Harris County with a total market value of $1 million or more. Interestingly, Glenwood Cemetery has an appraised value of $141.6 million, but is exempt as a cemetery. Ross Posted August 8, 2008 Author Share Posted August 8, 2008 That sounds like a great question for the HCAD appraisers. They will talk to you. I spent a bunch of time on the phone with them 6 or 7 years ago arguing that land values in Midtown were wrong for some busines sproperties (you can't have dirt worth $10 per ft next to dirt worth $22 per foot in the same block).
