20thStDad
I'm looking to post videos that I've shot with my camcorder onto a website. It's a JVC and they come in a .MOV format, but I can get them to a .mpg file pretty easily. I know that if I can convert to streaming flash they are really easy to post and stream from my website, but the free mpg-flv converters I've tried seem limited. I'd like to maintain the widescreen I'm shooting in, be able to string small files together into one file, and also keep some good resolution as it's a HD camera. Doesn't have to be perfect resolution though, just decent enough to not look like crap. Any recommendations? Keep in mind I'm an amateur here...I'll try to keep up with any suggestions. Gary
Not sure how in depth you want to go, but try this link. http://encoder-mpg-flv.qarchive.org/
20thStDad
That does give a lot of options, thanks - any personal experience that can suggest one over another?
Gary
That does give a lot of options, thanks - any personal experience that can suggest one over another? It really depends on what you want to do with it in the long run. I like AVS because it's got very good output resolution, and can convert virtually anything.
20thStDad
Well I found a free one called Riva that is doing a good enough job. It has a decent capacity for settings, and the videos I've done so far work well.http://www.rivavx.de/index.php?encoder&L=
