Moving along from weighty issues such as Oprah TV appearances...

How do you define chutzpah? How about slamming your opponent on earmarks, while you ask for 10 times that number.

The problem is that the Republicans get away with it. They just have a better attack machine than Democrats. Plus, they have the Limbaugh's and Hannity's of the world, who have no problem repeating lies and propaganda until their brain-damaged followers take it as gospel.

And that's why some people like yours truly don't particularly have a problem with the presence of Keith Olbermann and his ilk. They provide balance in the media. Fight fire with fire.

Shame that the only bump in the electoral college polls McCain got was after those silly Paris/Brittany ads. Does anyone know when McCain is going to cut Palin loose for interviews? Is he hiding something?

I don't know if McCain is hiding anyhting but I have a sinking feeling that Obama still is !!!

You had your Frankens and Huffingtons and Mahers. The problem is, nobody gives a wipe about what they have to spew, even your own base. Bush hatemongering gets pretty old after awhile, just ask your bankrupt Air America buddies. Face it, you have focused on hating Bush for so long that you Dems. have forgotten to get on your own people's backs to try and change ANYTHING for the last year. Remember, that's why you voted them in, they were gonna cut spending and bring all the troops home. What happened with that ? You got a packed Congress and Senate, and you still delicate flower and moan about Bush ?

I don't know why McCain and Palin get away with these blatant lies - especially about the Bridge to Nowhere. That was supposed to prove her "Maverick" status, and she kept all of our friggen money. To top that off, we have a pair who wants to teach voodoo mythological "Christian science", and a cranky old man who's already rattling sabers at a lot of countries. When's the last time we've had a leader who used diplomacy? Everyone said that Bush would follow his predecessors - he'd never start some long and costly wars - and we're crazy to even think that. I say this is a very dangerous pair.

Actually, Bush himself said that in 2000. He said we weren't going to be a bunch of "nation builders".

Do you know any Muslim people? Do you think they are evil? Obama is not a Muslim, and he hasn't denounced Muslims, so why do you keep bringing this up? Do you know that the only thing the world can see here is your own bigotry?

I don't know what the money was spent for. But it's two separate things whining about a state wasting federal money vs a state spending federal money. Who care's if Alaska used that money for another purpose ? If it went through the proper process to be spent and went towards worthwhile projects or services......

To top that off, we have a pair who wants to teach voodoo mythological "Christian science",

Wrong. Just because she is Christian and governor doesnt mean she wants to use that power to force Christianity down everyone's throats. She just wants those that believe in it to be free to debate it. You are criticizing her for her beliefs, not her actions.

Palin, Oct. 25, 2006: Teach both. You know, don't be afraid of information. Healthy debate is so important and it's so valuable in our schools. I am a proponent of teaching both. And you know, I say this too as the daughter of a science teacher. Growing up with being so privileged and blessed to be given a lot of information on, on both sides of the subject

I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that I have worked with and dealt with 100X the amount of Muslims than you have in the past 10 years. Pointing out Obama's "gaffe", shows that he may be hiding something.

Talk about a hypocrit, westguy, by you calling Palin's beliefs "VooDoo" and saying McCain is a cranky old man, you are showing the UNIVERSE your bigotry. Do you know any Christians? Talk to you later Pot.

If people are wanting a "Change" then why would you vote for McCain? He and Bush have all of the same friends and take money/donations from all of the same lobbyists. (And no I am not supporting Obama either).

In my eyes the biggest problem our country has is our government is no longer serving the people. They are in bed with corporations and the high ups of those corporations.

It's substantiated and I agree with your statements. Oh the humanity! (but really - there isn't much).

It doesn't matter what you say in polite company. You use a lot of avatars to let everyone know what you really think.

Do I know any Christians? Ridiculous question. I went to a religious school - a Catholic school (same religion as Palin!) I can criticize her beliefs because I know they are not what we were taught in school.

I don't need avatars to tell you that I think Obama is a lying, closet Muslim, that has a Socialist agenda for America, and that you and people like you, are just too stupid to see it, because they are blinded by their hate for the current administration, and Obama's HOPE, is that you will stay that way until November. Is that plain enough for you westguy ? I will put another avatar for you, if you like.

Catholic school, what a crock, sure, we all know what a shining example Priests have been for the Christian religion. I will pray for you westguy.

Where is the bigotry in calling Obama a fibber, are you saying there are no half-white guys that lie ? Calling someone a socialist is bigotry ? Please explain.

You had a photoshopped avatar a few days where he had a beard and Muslim dress. Was it just bad judgment that you chose it?

putting a beard and a dress on someone doesn't make a bigot.

I may have to change my name on Haif so as not to be confused with Westguy.

And if I hear "war for oil" one more time my head will explode, oops there it goes.

About as much bad judgement as photoshopping McCain in a skin tight leotard and mask. What's the difference ? Would you prefer to see Obama in an unphotoshopped Muslim garb ? I will accomodate you.

Really? I think it does. Repeatedly saying Obama is a Muslim because you think that will convince others to vote against him reveals intolerance.

You mean, like intolerance for someoneelse's Christian beliefs ? Perhaps intolerance for Atheist beliefs, wait, Atheists don't believe in anything.

Oh, and I don't believe it or say it because I think it will sway any of you koolaid drinkers, I just think people should know, before they vote.

It sounds like someone is blinded by their hatred for Obama. No offense, but your comment above sounds like something from a conspiracy theorist who is trying to make connections where there are nothing but random coincidences. You can paint anyone in a negative light if you pick and chose photos or comments out of context and ignore the broader message.

You sound really bitter, angry, jaded, and frustrated.

The fact that McCain was nominated in the first place is telling of another republican base revolution in the ranks. The Palin pick was to shore up the base but on the other side it was seen as election martyrdom.

Close elections are good for news ratings, in this day and age think about what's really important for MSM. Their vested interest is to keep it seemingly close.

Sad part is that the state of discourse on this thread gets more trolly and snark manifest as the election comes closer.

I will promise the republican voters this much, if Obama wins, I will not rub it in your face and I expect the same discipline amongst other Obama voters.

You would never act like this in front of the "100X the amount of Muslims" you've worked with over the years.

I don't think any of those people I dealt with have lied or tried to hide the fact about them being Muslim to the American people. I would be happy to tell Obama to his face, you go set up the meeting.

Those 100's of people would likely agree with me about Obama also, because in their belief, once a Muslim, ALWAYS a Muslim. I will address the fact that I don't think their is anything wrong with the Muslim faith, just be truthful about it.

ALL RIGHT THAT'S ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to come to the defense of my good friend, because I have just about had it with this BS name calling, while hiding behind a keyboard under some fake name like some coward. My boy TJ is a lot of things. He's got a passion for a lot of things also, especially Oreos, and just the shadow of his ass weighs about 35 pounds, but a BIGOT he is not. TJ doesn't have a bigoted bone in his body, and I draw the line there. He and myself don't always see eye to eye, just like Red and myself, but to call someone a bigot just out of the blue is uncalled for. And if you a hair on your backside, you refrain from such things until the next HAIF get together and see for yourself just who you are talking to. Believe me you wouldn't be able to miss either of us, unless you are Ray Charles and then the distinct smell of fresh Nachos and beer would be a dead give away.

This thread is about the Election and the people involved, not TJ, Red, myself, or any other HAIF member. This is horse-crap to keep going on like this. Wayne ought to slam the door on the the whole damn thing, if it can't stay on topic. This baiting and name calling has gone too far IMHO. Red, TJ, and myself can argue for hours and never resort to name calling, what is so damn hard about it. I can even tolerate Niche and not call him a single name, usually because he has put me to sleep while giving me a long winded lesson in his version of economics, but none the less, it doesn't resort to name calling. SOMETHING HAS GOT TO GIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
