Gary
Belleville is great! I have a piece of property north of town and have spent a little time in the square. It's very charming and has small festivals about every other weekend.

I recently did some face climbing outside of Bandera, and the area is simply beautiful. The springs were virtually everywhere we went, including some very nice waterfalls. I believe the Edwards aquafer supplies most of the springs we encountered.
Subdude
The photos that have been posted here of Wharton have really made me want to visit there, especially to see the Tee-Pee motel.

Then the next night go to Luckenbach for some more live music:http://www.luckenbachtexas.com/Now that's a good weekend! Bring back pictures! ricco67
When I was young, I took a month long trek across texas. Some of the places I visited were:The Judge Roy Bean Museum , which is a few miles north of Sonora (which has awesome caves), the New Braunsfels area has some awesome areas to visit as well as outlet malls. I think I hit just about every cave and Cavern that summer.
