I'm from the Houston area and I'd like to drive down there and stay (maybe) two days.What's the best way to explore the island and have fun on the 31st? Thanks! Vertigo58 Posted October 12, 2007 Share Posted October 12, 2007 There is a real good stage/lounge right on the Strand or rather on Mechanic street near the cruise ship area. I cannot recall the name but it is across the street from some historic hotel. Drive slowly and you will see advertisments on the big glass windows showing what the line up is. There are 60's and 70's singer impersonators and kareoke too. The place has that Lounge appearance on the outside you cant miss it. Its in a safe area too. Sorry, there is a website too but I cant remember the blasted name. The sleazier dives are way at the end near The Peanut Factory. Unless thats what you want?
