editor
Here's how people in 1910 thought buildings would be erected in the year 2000. It's from an exhibit at the French National Library showing pictures of the year 2000 as envisioned at the turn of the last century. Here's a few more: We still don't have a working videophone system. And where's my flying car?

moni
Interesting. I don't get the headphones for learning, and a hand crank for shredding books. Also, we do have front-end projection tvs and webcams which was just too far advanced for these guys. I like the mechanical arms grooming the guys. Can't believe that Frenchmen would want to replace women, lol. Whoops, goofed again, as I believe a number of guys on this Forum wouldn't miss them at all. Can't win. Highway6
Since we're looking at past artist's predictions of the future. Bayou City Houston Blog had this up a few weeks ago. Downtown Houston, looking West across the Eastex Fwy in the year 2000, as envisioned in the late 1970s. ...Love the monorail...
sevfiv
very neat - although who was "Villemard" i wonder. the book reading/juicing machine complete with headphones would be a modern day scanner with OCR and screen reader, i guess funny that the description mentions these were probably intended to accompany food items... TJones
Just happened to be listening to Mancow this morning and he found a highschool instructional film from 1967 that talked about the future, he played some audio form it and it described home computers and their abilities to a "T" ! It sent a little chill down my spine.
