rsb320 134
Frenchy's eh. Never have, never will.I tried the one near Reliant. It's the first fried chicken place that I've been to where I was served on an actual stoneware plate. They also have a bar! However, I found the chick to be a bit greezy. wernicke 31
How much do you guys pay/expect to pay monthly for a membership at 24 hour? The flier they put on my door (that had already expired when I received it) was advertising no sign-up fee and $45/month... I notice the offer on the website is not nearly as good of a deal. I would like a membership if I can get one for 40-45/month.

Mr. Chenevert 1
The $45/month is the standard corporate rate for Super Sport level 24 hour facilities.Anything better than that is just gravy.

roadrunner 44
I know the 24 HR sign has been up for a few weeks, but tonight when I drove by I saw the "Mix at Midtown" sign on the building. It looked pretty good, I must say. It also made me a little more optimistic about the project proposed across the street. I still think there needs to be more residential in this area to support all of the retail around this proposal. Camden Travis will help, but that doesn't even break ground until this fall (if everything is still on schedule). Is it possible that Crosspoint is planning some residential for the next phase of the Mix? It would be a smart business move, I think, but from what I know Crosspoint isn't in the residential space. Mr. Chenevert 1
Drive down Elgin towards 59. There are a ton of brand new townhomes just dieing for retail. This is only a mile away.... we will support the retail.

rsb320 134
Who's to say that people are not going to venture past Brazos from the Montrose? I mean, come on, that area is already densely populated. More apts in Midtown will only add to the 'Mix'. It would be nice if 'they' would do something with lower Westheimer (new sidewalks and such).

Instead people will just refer to the intersection it's located at and the tenants that are in it.I think it's just like strip centers anyway. They all have names but nobody refers to them. wernicke 31
Just noticed on Crosspoint's website that they no longer have Starbucks listed as a tenant at the corner of Louisiana and Elgin. Every slot is available.24 hour website offer for this location is 24.99 "initiation fee" (ahem... BS), 79.99 "administration fee" (ahem... BS), and 44.99 monthly dues. Drowning in concrete, glass and steel. I see accidents on the rise especially with that pathetic rail flying by so often. I think it's starting to look fantastic. I like how they are putting in trees on both sides of Elgin (it should look really cool in several years). Not sure what you mean by the "pathetic rail". Houston needs more mass transit like it. And as far as "fumes of waiting cars"... I'm going to be walking/biking to this place... as a lot of us will be.

mikeybob2 1
I'm still debating whether or not I should pay all the fees and sign up...I live in Westbury. I belong to the worn out Meyerland 24hr Sport and am transferring to the Elgin/Louisiana gym.. If you're serious about working out and want state of the art equipment, I'd join. I will be driving way out of the way but it's worth it for new equipment.. The cost is about the same everywhere so you might as well go for the best equipment, and of course, cleanliness, and air condintioning that works. They will keep this gym in good condition for at least a couple years.
