J.A.S.O.N.
I wonder if Moses Lake could swell enough during a hurricane to flood this development? I don't see Galveston Bay topping Skyline
Cook911411
David Weekley is the only builder here!
plumber2
According to the Corps of Engineers, Moses Lake is the holding tank for all the water pumped by the Texas City pumping stations during a hurricane. Here is how it works.1.) When a hurricane approaches, the Moses Lake gate is closed. This seals off the lake from any tidal intrusion.2.) As water enters Texas City either by rainfall of bayou flooding, the pumps kick on and empties the drainage ditches into Moses Lake.3.) Once the storm passes, the Moses Lake gate is openned, letting the stored water out into the bay. This has worked once during hurricane Alicia. Hopefully it will work again. The Texas City levee and pumping system is designed for a category 3 storm. Anything above that, then all bets are off.
