You are also responsible for maintaining an accurate e-mail address in your member profile. We do not send out spam. We may occasionally send out e-mail in the event of a catastrophic event, or if we believe your account may be abandoned. Further, if someone sends you a personal message through the forum and you don't have a correct e-mail address listed it causes headaches for us when the mail bounces. If you do not maintain an accurate e-mail address your posting privileges may be suspended until it is updated.
The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of this bulletin board. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this bulletin board to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law.

You may not post blatantly or demonstrably false information. The world is full of enough rumors and innuendo. The intent of this forum is to generate more light than heat.
You may not participate in flame wars. "He started it" is not a valid excuse. Both parties in a flame war may have their accounts suspended or terminated. Just walk away if you don't want to be suspended.
Threads comparing and contrasting various cities are permitted. However, my-city-is-better-than-your-city flame wars are not allowed. Especially Houston v. Dallas.
You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by this bulletin board.
You agree not to post spam or other messages that are exclusively for commercial or self promotion. You may place a link to your personal or business web site in your signature. But you may not post messages that are little more than ads, with one exception: Help Wanted ads and Resumes posted in the jobs section.
Personal attacks are strictly prohibited. Messages containing personal attacks will be deleted. Repeated offenses will result in the suspension, and possible termination of your account. You may also have your machine or business banned from the web site. We've done it before. We'll do it again.
Animations are not permitted in signatures. Animations are permitted in avatars, if they are not too distracting.
Keyword stuffing is not permitted in blogs, or signatures. You may have legitimate links in your signatures or blogs, but HAIF does not exist to manipulate your search engine ranking.
Every effort should be taken to keep signatures brief. In the case of a graphic element in a signature, a maximum height of 200 pixels is recommended.
