  1. Rumor on the street is that Cameron acquired 25 acres from Apache. I believe this location is the former Dow Chemical HQ at 400 West Sam Houston Parkway. They have real estate all over the city, particularly in Westway Park. This must be a large consolidation for them. Apparently going to include over 1 million square feet of office. Patrinely will develop it for Cameron...you have to believe the architect will be Gensler. Same team currently developing Southwestern Energy's new HQ in Springwoods Village. How many energy companies are left to build new campuses for?
  2. Ok so I remember quite a bit about Woodlake Square but would enjoy hearing from you. Anyone know what the original stores and businesses were? I seem to remember a bar called Woodlake Pub and possibly Bayou Mama's??
  3. Hi, A family member is considering contracting with a property manager to lease out their current home (gated, 2 story Tudor, 1 acre lot etc) with easy access to the energy corridor. Suggestions on which companies to go to - or to avoid? Also, what are the tax implications (property tax, etc) since this is currently a principal residence? (The person will be travelling for a while without any other principal residence). Thanks in advance!

  5. Does anyone have any info on this West 8 development over in Westchase? Details? art?
  6. Drove by today and they've painted on the window that they open this Friday, July 29th, at 8am. New store is in front of Westchase Kohl's. Interestingly, in the same parking lot in front of the new Trader Joe's, a Beer Nation sign has gone up on the old Harvest Organic Grill.
  7. Not sure if there's already a thread for this, but there is a very impressive wrap apartment bulldog going up at Westheimer and Eldridge called Haven at Westheimer.
  8. There is a foundation poured in the lot next to my office that has been sitting idle for over 5 years. I assume its a hotel. Over the past few months and especially past few weeks work has started to progress. Here is a picture from earlier today. Any idea which hotel this will be? Southeast corner of Harwin and Rogerdale on the southbound feeder for BW8.
  9. Hey guys and gals, This is Cass. How is everyone doing? As you know, I work around zip 77077, is that called Westchase? I am looking to move into a nice, new or newer apartment community around this area or around I-10 and the Beltway. I was told there are a lot of new developments along Eldridge parkway? as well as along I-10 and the Beltway I do not mind paying a premium rent for a nice apartment, neighborhood, service and sane neighbors. A safe neighborhood is important. Features such as attached garages are welcome, or even a townhome! I have no pets and have a stable income, good credit, clean leasing history, etc. Any suggestions please? Thank you!! Cass
  10. PM Realty Group is building a office building in Westchase, It will be 300,000 SQFT( 6 floors with 50,000 SQFT floor plates). It will be completed towards the end of 2014. http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/blog/breaking-ground/2013/06/pm-realty-group-starts-on-westchase.html

  12. Happened to see a new crane up in Westchase. It's inside the Beltway, and looked to be just north of Richmond on Briarpark. I know there are a number of developments seeking interest... does anyone happen to know which one this is?
  13. There's a note in Bisnow about Colvill Office Properties moving ahead with Two Oak Park in Westchase, which will be great news for those of you who were fans of One Oak Park, because they're almost identical.
  14. There was a fairly extensive article written on the potential of four new buildings in the CityWestPlace complex out along the Beltway near Westheimer. It also went into detail about how Westchase in general is really tight in terms of vacancy rates. Here are two scans from today's paper
  15. Not sure if this is the right place to put this... Granite Properties will break ground within the next 60 days on a speculative office building in Houston's Westchase submarket, the commercial real estate investment and management company said Monday. Granite Briarpark Green, a 300,000-square-foot, 12-story, Class A office building, will be located at 3141 Briarpark Drive. Situated on a 4-acre site, the building will be adjacent to the existing Briarpark Green building owned by PGAL Architects. http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2012/03/19/granite-to-build-new-development-in.html
  16. Did any of my pictures post? I thought they would but i can't tell from work. Anyway, I found City West Place 7, too. I am not sure how many of these buildings already exist since I never go here. Can anyone else say? http://showcase.com/...G3mZrnun1gcyiq4 I found building 6, too: http://showcase.com/...qO+s/3qEObk/TiY 8:http://showcase.com/...vDG2gj+0aSX0e+e

What is happening to the area of Westheimer west of Fountainview? It seems north of Westheimer, it appears viable with lots of store-front retail and dining, but south of it it appears a bit run down with shady nightclubs and massage parlors taking over the defunct Richmond Strip... Are we looking at a future Sharpstown?

  19. Multimillion-Dollar Mixed-Use Project Set for Westchase District By Beverly Ford HOUSTON-A local developer packs residential high-rise condos and 130,000 sf of high-end retail space into a multi-building, 11.5-acre development off Beltway 8. The final layout is still being tweaked amid plans for a groundbreaking in the coming months.
  20. Does anyone have any knowledge of future plans for high towers to be built in our Westchase area? There are just a few that stand out but the area is prime location for plenty of high rise development. This area has become another little city within itself. Seems eerily familiar to Los Angeles' Wilshire District lined up and down with major corporations and high rise living. If you know of anything, could you please place a photo so we can see how nice they will look? Thank you!
  21. Another crane went up in the city yesterday. I believe thats close to the 30 for the city limits. Not to bad for a city that supposely nothing gets built... This crane is a block east of the beltway on the north side of Richmond - Does anyone have an idea of what is getting built?
  22. Westchase District by Rives Taylor, AIA PROJECT Westchase District Long Range Plan CLIENT Westchase Municipal Management District ARCHITECT Powers Brown Architecture with SWA Group CONSULTANTS Robert Charles Lesser & Co. LLC (real estate); Spillette Consulting (urban development); Walter P. Moore (infractructure); Knudson & Associates (economic development) DESIGN TEAM Powers Brown Architecture: Jeffrey Brown, AIA; Baldemar Gonzalez; John Cadenhead; SWA: Scott Slaney; James Vick; Kinder Baumgardner At twice the size of downtown, the 4.2-square mile Westchase District is one of the aging "edge city fragments" from the 1970s and '80s that now compose the milieu of Houston's rapidly multiplying town center precincts. This area, fairly indistinguishable from the city's other car-centric suburbs, encompasses the typical mix of boulevard strip shopping centers, two-story apartment complexes, and mid-rise offices buildings (with more than 17.5 million square feet of commercial space). Local landowners ultimately decided to organize and consider how the west-side district's prospects could be made more attractive to re-investment. What was missing, they realized, was a distinctive identity for the district that would induce development over the next 20 years. link to full article
  23. About 20 black SUVs parked on the divider and in front of the apartments on S. Gessner between Ella Lee and Westheimer, police vans, SWAT truck, guys in full gear with weapons at hand walking around - didn't need my espresso this morning! Drove past all this about 25 minutes ago. Nothing we can find online yet.
