It's not quite going up yet, but I'm confident it will be soon as there have been recent reports about their plans including this one from this past Friday. We can change the title once it is announced. From the article: The article also mentions that other potential locations are the Med Center, Energy Corridor, downtown and even suburban locations like The Woodlands and Sugar Land. http://www.chron.com/business/sarnoff/article/Sarnoff-Ashby-high-rise-developers-request-first-3832588.php#photo-3396224

Looks like HEB is really pushing hard for their new urban concept... this could be a large development (just my speculation). no mention of mixed use but it looks like their urban concepts are shooting for that where feasible and this would certainly be a feasible location. http://www.chron.com/business/real-estate/article/H-E-B-planning-Upper-Kirby-land-buy-11743119.php?ipid=ntk

I am sure this is somewhere on the going up, but I couldn't find it. Does anyone know how tall the new complex will be? I would guess Avalon Diner will be next to go.

Maybe I'm being a bit naive and believing the hype, but Colliers International is putting this site up for sale and pumping it up (as they all do, no?). Maybe it's not as great as they say since they reveal that the property is only 45% leased as of now. Still, it does seem like a pretty good location. It reminds me of nw corner Weslayan & 59 b/c of the gas station on the corner. Are apartments the destiny of this location as well? Is this location really as unique as they claim it will be and truly the last site of it's kind to become available for years to come? I doubt I guess, but it's

So, I just heard from someone this afternoon that the entire block bounded by Bammel, Sackett, Earl and Philfall is under contract with Borlenghi. No confirmation if that is who actually has it under contract (I hope so) but supposedly the tenants have until the end of the year to vacate. This is the block of bungalows that have been used for years as offices. Would be a great location for a highrise. Can someone confirm?

I received this email yesterday - I have no idea how I'm even on the list but... Apparently Randall Davis is building a new property behind the Carraba's on Kirby, starting in April 2012. It looks to be about six stories (five residential and probably one lobby/garage). The details, per the email, are below. I've also attached a rendering, which was sent with the email. I have no interest in violating their intellectual property by posting this here, but since the email was sent as an advertisement, I imagine they wouldn't mind the publicity. Here's the body of the email. It came from an email

21 townhomes starting at $1.3 million+. "Embassy-like" security. Being built off of San Felipe just East of Kirby by Rohe and Wright. Looks very similar to their wildly successful Cheyne Walk (London-themed) development on Sunset Blvd. near the Sunset Clinic.

Well, the title speaks for itself. Here's my list: 1. Uptown (looking to the east from the SW Freeway, uptown looks very impressive. Especially with all of the cranes) 2. DT - from 45 SE of DT 3. TMC from 610 4. Energy Corridor 5. The Woodlands 6. Greenway Plaza/Upper Kirby.

ug. 28, 2004, 3:33AM Galleria area back in favor With toll road and cheaper rent, area is becoming attractive again By NANCY SARNOFF Copyright 2004 Houston Chronicle Despite the traffic snarls caused by freeway construction, the Galleria-area office market is edging back in favor with tenants. Downtown and Westchase were also cited as top

Any idea what else is going in the new retail center at Kirby & 59? I saw a Corner Bakery going in, and the website lists it as 2615 Southwest Freeway, but I've been unable to find any more information on it. I've searched on here and couldn't find any info either, my apologies if I just missed it!
