https://parkplanning.nps.gov/projectHome.cfm?parkID=456&projectID=95793 https://texashighways.com/culture/history/remembering-migration-of-freed-slaves-emancipation-trail/ "In 2019, U.S. Sen. John Cornyn and U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, both of Texas, introduced the Emancipation National Historic Trail Study Act, which started a Park Service feasibility study of the proposed trail and its historical significance. The study’s findings, expected by the end of 2023, will be shared with Congress, which could then designate it a national historic trail. That would allow for a management plan and marking historical sites as permitted by private landowners."

https://1093railstotrails.weebly.com/ "Five local governments--Austin County and the cities of Eagle Lake, Fulshear, Wallis, and Weston Lakes--have joined together as a local government corporation to plan and build a 31-mile shared-use trail along a former rail line west of Houston. Together, these municipalities envision a shared-use trail that is safe and accessible for cyclists and pedestrians. The trail would run alongside FM 1093 from Fulshear to Eagle Lake, connecting several Texas towns along the way. " Public engagement meetings have been held in Eagle Lake and Wallis over the past month and a half.

Hi, I recently saw the photo below from a Houston Bikeways presentation outlining their plans for the Patterson bike path:https://houstonbikeplan.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Patterson-Street-Bikeway-011421.pdf Anyone have more information on the Rutland ped-bike bridge?? This would be an amazing addition to the bike path and encourages more folks to use the White Oak Bayou trail.
