  1. Saw this plat several weeks ago, thought it might be a townhouse farm but now seems to be a small apartment project. Jonathan Farb grandson of Harold Farb, built the two buildings next to this that are now called The Parker. https://farbhomes.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/HC_12_2013_3.pdf https://farbhomes.com
  2. San Felipe Plaza, Sunset, originally uploaded by zoomanderson1. San Felipe Plaza bids adieu to another day in Houston. The architect, Richard Keating, once told HAIF that it was one of his favorites. Shame about the location, though. It so often gets overlooked. A little closer to Uptown or downtown would have done wonders. Thanks to zoomanderson1 for the photo from the HAIF Flickr group.
  3. The Bowery On Montrose was never built. I really liked the architectural design on this building. I wonder if they could re-use the architectural design for another multifamily building in a different part of the city? Rendering for the (now cancelled) never built project. Oddly enough, the project is still active, and displayed, on the developer's website (as of 10/05/2022) https://farbhomes.com/apartmenthomes/montrose/
  4. Anyone know who originally developed this garden style apartment complex? I wonder the date as well.
  5. Nob Hill Apartments In Meyerland For Sale. https://communityimpact.com/houston/bellaire-meyerland-west-university/development/2020/02/19/meyerland-apartment-community-nob-hill-is-for-sale/
  6. This will go up across the street from the Birdsall Memorial Apartments. http://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/columnists/sarnoff/article/Apartment-frenzy-near-Memorial-Park-intensifies-5023325.php?cmpid=btfpm
  7. I lived in West Point for a short while in my early 20's. good times. Volleyball and swimming next to the Bayou.
  8. I remember all the brouhaha a few years back about the city's plan to spiff up the rathole apartments along Broadway to make them look nice for people coming into Hobby from out of town. Anyone else? Well, apparently it didn't really work out: http://blogs.houstonpress.com/hairballs/2009/07/broadway_apartment_grants.php
  9. One thing that always interests me is why certain older complexes go condo. I lived in the Westpoint Apartments, some old Harold Farb apartments on Westheimer just east of Fondren, when I first moved back to Houston after college, and lived there from the Summer of 1998 through the end of 1999. My parents gave me a lot of perspective on this complex's life cycle when they found out I was moving in there. Seems when they moved to Houston as a young newlywed couple in 1970, Westpoint was one the hip complexes to live in, even boasted its own nightclub - Barbery Coast. When I was living there, Barbery Coast had become the fitness center, and the occupants weren't young and hip, mostly strippers from Babydolls who would sun themselves out by the pool (thus turning me off permanently to strip joints once I saw what strippers look like in the light of day) and all sorts of burnouts, interesting characters, and recent immigrants.
