This doesn't come as any shock to anyone, who watches KPRC-TV NBC 2 Houston, but Simone Eli will be leaving KPRC-TV after just 2 years & heading back to AL. According to Mike McGuff of mikemcguff.com, Eli said, "I've loved my time here & have created amazing relationships with folks at KPRC, but I'm moving to be happier personally & continue my sports broadcasting career in AL (Birmingham/Tuscaloosa area)," Eli told McGuff. "I've yet to make a decision on some job offers but that'll be coming in the next couple of weeks, as well." Eli came to Houston & KPRC-TV NBC 2 from FOX 10 WALA-TV Mobile, AL. Before that, she worked as a TV Play-by-Play, color analyst & reporter for Buckeye Cable Sports Network (BCSN). No stranger to sports, Eli played basketball for Bowling Green State University's championship winning team, which advanced to the Sweet 16. Her last day on KPRC-TV is next Tuesday. KPRC-TV NBC 2 Houston has a new weekend sports anchor in Simone Eli, who recently left WALA-TV Fox 10 in Mobile, Alabama.
