  1. This doesn't come as any shock to anyone, who watches KPRC-TV NBC 2 Houston, but Simone Eli will be leaving KPRC-TV after just 2 years & heading back to AL. According to Mike McGuff of mikemcguff.com, Eli said, "I've loved my time here & have created amazing relationships with folks at KPRC, but I'm moving to be happier personally & continue my sports broadcasting career in AL (Birmingham/Tuscaloosa area)," Eli told McGuff. "I've yet to make a decision on some job offers but that'll be coming in the next couple of weeks, as well." Eli came to Houston & KPRC-TV NBC 2 from FOX 10 WALA-TV Mobile, AL. Before that, she worked as a TV Play-by-Play, color analyst & reporter for Buckeye Cable Sports Network (BCSN). No stranger to sports, Eli played basketball for Bowling Green State University's championship winning team, which advanced to the Sweet 16. Her last day on KPRC-TV is next Tuesday. Everyone please wish her well! http://mikemcguff.blogspot.com/2016/05/simone-eli-to-leave-kprc-2.html
  2. With Nick Giovanni leaving KPRC-TV for WUSA-TV in Washington D.C., the NBC Houston affiliate replaced him with James Starks as one of the station's sports anchors/reporters. Who is James Starks you might ask ? Starks played for the Cincinnati Bengals as a free agent in 2008. Injuries led him to play for the Ancona Dolphins in Italy. Before going to the Pros, Starks was a two-time All-American at Capital University in Columbus, OH. In 2007, he was named the Ohio Athletic Conference's defensive back of the year. Before joining KPRC-TV, he previously worked at WOIO-TV and Fox 8 in Cleveland, where Starks was a sideline reporter and anchor. He follows another recent KPRC-TV sports hire, Simone Eli, who was also a college athlete. http://mikemcguff.blogspot.com/2014/09/james-starks-kprc-2-sports-anchor-reporter-.html Now the sports team at KPRC-TV includes Randy McIlvoy (sports director), Simone Eli, Chester Pitts, and Starks. Reaction to this hiring and how Starks will be received by the KPRC-TV faithful ?
  3. KPRC-TV NBC 2 Houston has a new weekend sports anchor in Simone Eli, who recently left WALA-TV Fox 10 in Mobile, Alabama. Mike McGuff of mikemcguff.com reported that Eli started working at the station today. http://mikemcguff.blogspot.com/2014/07/simone-eli-kprc-2-weekend-sports-anchor.html?m=1 http://www.kprc.com/ Reaction from anyone on Eli joining KPRC ?
