Looks like the Exxon-Mobile campus has sparked more development; this time a 10-story building for Southwestern Energy. Per the article, the building is to be located at the corner of I-45 and the Hardy (which is probably just a generic location for SWV itself). http://www.bizjourna...ds-village.html

I was doing some research today and came across this quote in a New York Times article from the 80's: I think a lot of people in Houston don't realize the significance of these buildings.

There are a couple of buildings going up right now on the North Belt between Aldine Westfield and JFK Blvd, just east of Halliburton. They are currently about 4 and 5 stories, and I'm not sure how high they are projected to go. Does anyone have any more info on this?

I spoke to a woman at the bowling alley a few months ago who works for Anadarko and she confirmed the rumor that plans were in the works for a third tower across Lake Robbins which is exactly where the picture above indicates. From the looks of the picture, the building will be around 20 to 25 stories. Appears to be shorter than Allison and Hackett towers...

From the Chron: Sam Houston might surrender racing for one year. I don't know how I missed this tidbit, but they ran a short report about it on KTRK last night. Does this mean the beginning of the end for this place? It won't really break my heart, but it will be a bummer, though. Mods: feel free to move it to another section if you want.

I notice this building leans towards the artificial lake. Do you think they will have correct this at some point in time, maybe filling the lake in with dirt? http://i24.tinypic.com/29ygv4h.jpg link to the pic. http://www.city-data.com/picfilesc/picc14320.php
