July Mod of the Month Houston Mod invites you to join us this Sunday, July 17, 2016 for a Mod of the Month open house event from 2-4 PM. Please join us Sunday to help us find a new preservation-minded owner for this outstanding architect designed modern home. This month's event takes place in the Meyerland subdivision of Houston, located about 9 miles southwest of downtown. Thanks to Houston MODern Market for sponsoring this FREE event. Architect Hy Applebaum and his wife will be at Sunday's event to discuss the house and his career as well as Houston's architectural scene. Hy A. Applebaum, AIA is a 1956 graduate of the Rice University School of Architecture and principal of the Houston-based R&A Architects since its founding in 1963. The house of his design, expansive in plan and richly detailed, has been occupied and wonderfully maintained by Mr. and Mrs. Applebaum and family since its construction.
