  1. Proposed 21-story high-rise development at Bunker Hill Rd & I-10. There's also an office building shown but it's unlikely to be built anytime soon. Site is currently being used as a staging area for Hotel Zaza.
  2. 3. This corner used to have Cornbreads, (as nice as it was to have a sports bar down the street from me some of the folks that went there where kinda thuggish), Schlotzkiz (spelling?), CiCi's Pizza, and the Asian Supermarket. It's all gone now! There is a sign up for "Cherry Companies", who I guess is either the Demo company or the General Contractor. I'm wondering if anyone has a clue as to what will be constructed here?
  4. Listed as "on the boards". Anyone have more info? Really nice for the area. 12-story apartment high rise 348 units 64,500 square foot of amenities 26,000 square foot retail space 44,000 square foot Whole Foods http://www.humphreys.com/portfolio/on-the-boards-5/ Edit: Metronational is the developer.
  5. I don't know if this has been talked about yet, but Amazon opened their 18th tech hub in Houston around late July. it's located in City Centre Five (25,000 square feet of the building), in which they plan to higher 150 employees immediately. I have a feeling they're going to expand in the future though. https://blog.aboutamazon.com/job-creation-and-investment/amazon-opens-new-tech-hub-in-houston

  7. according to this article, there seems to be a need in West houston (which they call the geologic center of the city, believe it or not) that will be completed in 2010, at which the old hospital will be vacated and renovated. should make traffic fun there for a couple of years! Especially when you consider the various ramps to/from bw8 and I-10 are to be demolished in the near future. I look forward to this being comleted, though. Should make for an excellent addition to the city.
  8. elnina999 has added a photo to the pool: Houston-based MetroNational’s first office building north of Interstate 10 is moving toward completion. View the full article

  10. While there had been rumblings of such a project in other threads, I figured it was time to start a separate one since Bisnow is reporting something a bit more specific.
  11. Forgot to post this one the other day. Proposed to go up near Memorial City Mall. 335 units. http://www.humphreys.com/portfolio/on-the-boards-9/
  12. Found this in the chron this morning: http://www.chron.com/business/article/New-office-tower-for-Memorial-City-area-3674881.php
  13. Since Cobalt International Energy has moved into 920 Memorial City Way, BisNow tells us that the building is now officially the Cobalt Center. Reference pic from the BisNow newsletter:
  14. Is there a thread for the this Memorial City condo project? I couldn't find it.
  15. http://msnbc.msn.com/id/9214243/ Looks like Midway tried to purchase this when they bought T&C mall, but Radisson declined. Now MetroNational has it, so you know they are going to make it great! It would be nice to know what they're going to do! I am excited about the change.
  16. Metronational is almost finished their new 40,000+ shopping center at Briar Forest and BW8 across from Revere Middle School. I am very excited since I live in Walnut Bend which is a stones throw away. My wife and I have a bet on what services are going in there and what will eventually be on the pad sites. There is no question that 1 or 2 bank buildings will occupy the pads. Hopefully a non fast food restuarant will take the other pad(s). As for inline tenants. I am fully expecting a Hair Place (Supercuts, Fantastic Sams, etc etc). There will be a nail saloon for sure. Probably one that is also a mini day spa. I think a Starbucks would be ideal in that location. I can not think of another one on Briar Forest. I am sure there will be a kolache factory or some other chain. There is no doubt that a dry cleaner (Pilgrim or MW) will be a part of the center. I have not seen anything about potential tenants, but I my knowledge of Metronational is that they do not half ass anything, so I suspect tenants will be filling it up quickly. I would love to see an upscale pub go in there. It seems to me that all the pubs around the Westchase area are tired and worn out. I would like to see a fresh and clean establishment and that location would be solid (unless there a rule about being across the street from the school??) At any rate, I have rambled on long enough. Anyone know any concrete leasing information on that site? I would love to know what is going in there. Thanks. MetroNational Retail Development
