  1. Proposed 21-story high-rise development at Bunker Hill Rd & I-10. There's also an office building shown but it's unlikely to be built anytime soon. Site is currently being used as a staging area for Hotel Zaza.
  2. Listed as "on the boards". Anyone have more info? Really nice for the area. 12-story apartment high rise348 units64,500 square foot of amenities26,000 square foot retail space44,000 square foot Whole Foods http://www.humphreys.com/portfolio/on-the-boards-5/ Edit: Metronational is the developer.
  3. This corner used to have Cornbreads, (as nice as it was to have a sports bar down the street from me some of the folks that went there where kinda thuggish), Schlotzkiz (spelling?), CiCi's Pizza, and the Asian Supermarket. It's all gone now! There is a sign up for "Cherry Companies", who I guess is either the Demo company or the General Contractor. I'm wondering if anyone has a clue as to what will be constructed here?

  7. While there had been rumblings of such a project in other threads, I figured it was time to start a separate one since Bisnow is reporting something a bit more specific.
  8. Forgot to post this one the other day. Proposed to go up near Memorial City Mall. 335 units. http://www.humphreys.com/portfolio/on-the-boards-9/
  9. Found this in the chron this morning: http://www.chron.com/business/article/New-office-tower-for-Memorial-City-area-3674881.php
  10. according to this article, there seems to be a need in West houston (which they call the geologic center of the city, believe it or not) that will be completed in 2010, at which the old hospital will be vacated and renovated. should make traffic fun there for a couple of years! Especially when you consider the various ramps to/from bw8 and I-10 are to be demolished in the near future. I look forward to this being comleted, though. Should make for an excellent addition to the city.
  11. Has anyone seen the Fountains at Memorial City? These are new condos going up on Gaylord right next door to the Cemex building just east of Memorial City. They are being developed by MetroNational which pretty much owns everything from Bunker Hill to Memorial Hermann (the president of MetroNational has his office in the "crown" of the Memorial Hermann Tower). Anyway, there is nothing particularly special about The Fountains except that it is unusual for high rise condos to be built so far out. But the parking garage is surprisingly a thing of beauty! (Photos here.) The have put a mural on the side of trees with a neat effect of the more distant trees being paler in the haze. Because there are real trees in the parking lot in front (north) of the mural, it gives it a curious trompe l'oeil effect. Worth checking out!
  12. Is there a thread for the this Memorial City condo project? I couldn't find it.
  13. http://msnbc.msn.com/id/9214243/ Looks like Midway tried to purchase this when they bought T&C mall, but Radisson declined. Now MetroNational has it, so you know they are going to make it great! It would be nice to know what they're going to do! I am excited about the change.
