Proposed 21-story high-rise development at Bunker Hill Rd & I-10. There's also an office building shown but it's unlikely to be built anytime soon. Site is currently being used as a staging area for Hotel Zaza.

This corner used to have Cornbreads, (as nice as it was to have a sports bar down the street from me some of the folks that went there where kinda thuggish), Schlotzkiz (spelling?), CiCi's Pizza, and the Asian Supermarket. It's all gone now! There is a sign up for "Cherry Companies", who I guess is either the Demo company or the General Contractor. I'm wondering if anyone has a clue as to what will be constructed here?

according to this article, there seems to be a need in West houston (which they call the geologic center of the city, believe it or not) that will be completed in 2010, at which the old hospital will be vacated and renovated. should make traffic fun there for a couple of years! Especially when you consider the various ramps to/from bw8 and I-10 are to be demolished in the near future. I look forward to this being comleted, though. Should make for an excellent addition to the city.

Has anyone seen the Fountains at Memorial City? These are new condos going up on Gaylord right next door to the Cemex building just east of Memorial City. They are being developed by MetroNational which pretty much owns everything from Bunker Hill to Memorial Hermann (the president of MetroNational has his office in the "crown" of the Memorial Hermann Tower). Anyway, there is nothing particularly special about The Fountains except that it is unusual for high rise condos to be built so far out. But the parking garage is surprisingly a thing of beauty! (Photos here.) The have put a mural on the

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/9214243/ Looks like Midway tried to purchase this when they bought T&C mall, but Radisson declined. Now MetroNational has it, so you know they are going to make it great! It would be nice to know what they're going to do! I am excited about the change.

Metronational is almost finished their new 40,000+ shopping center at Briar Forest and BW8 across from Revere Middle School. I am very excited since I live in Walnut Bend which is a stones throw away. My wife and I have a bet on what services are going in there and what will eventually be on the pad sites. There is no question that 1 or 2 bank buildings will occupy the pads. Hopefully a non fast food restuarant will take the other pad(s). As for inline tenants. I am fully expecting a Hair Place (Supercuts, Fantastic Sams, etc etc). There will be a nail saloon for sure. Prob
