  1. Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital will break ground on a new, seven-story patient tower early next year. The cost of the project is roughly $104 million. http://www.ultimatewoodlands.com/2009/10/hospital-plans-new-104-million-facility
  2. Noticed a $300,000 permit this week for 2900 Richmond Ave.
  3. A friend forwarded this internal email sent to Memorial Hermann TMC employees from the CEO earlier this week.
  4. Fom The Houston Chronice CONSTRUCTION Hermann ready to start building After winning tax breaks from the city of Houston and Harris County, Memorial Hermann Healthcare System will break ground this month on a long-awaited medical center and office building. The 30-story tower, which will include more than 500,000 square feet of space, will be built at the corner of Fannin and MacGregor in the Texas Medical Center. Mischer Healthcare Services is a partner in development of the building, Memorial Hermann Medical Plaza. The $155 million facility will include an ambulatory care center, an imaging
  5. Maybe I am posting this in the wrong section, but I live in Meyerland and I have often wondered why we do not have a Super Walmart in the SW Houston/Meyerland area. We have a normal Walmart off of South Post Oak and 610 (which is always REALLY crowded), but not a Super WM. Anyone else think there needs to be one?
  6. Have been searching thru Google images & several forums w/in HAIF w/out much success. In the past the good folkes of the Historic Houston Forum have always come through w/some really good photos of old historical Houston prior to tear down or total abandonment. So as time permits would someone be able to provide some photos or perhaps a link to go & view?
  7. A sign just went up this afternoon on near the Kroger sign http://impactnews.com/houston-metro/cy-fair/memorial-hermann-to-build-hospital-campus-in-cypress/
  8. There has been so many discussions on various buildings going up that I find it difficult to remember to know if we covered them all. During my runs, I noticed that they knocked down the old Miller Beer wherehouse next too "Bridal mart" or whatever it's called on 59S @ 610. Any news as far as this goes? Also there is a substantial project going on at Fannin and Greenbriar (I think) Right near the dome where Fannin and the other street splits. Did we cover those two items in the past or does anyone have the skinny on the construction? Ricco
  9. The Memorial-Hermann Hospital in Sugarland in being built. There is a rumour that a lot of the staff will transfer from the TMC location to the Sugarland location. Any one have any architecture information on the new facility? We would like to post that information on http://www.sugarlandinfo.net Thanks. Memorial-Hermann Staff
  10. It's one of the least architecturally pleasing buildings, to put it nicely, ever built, in my opinion. The off-center crown, in particular, gives me an intense urge to fix it, or demolish it.
  11. according to this article, there seems to be a need in West houston (which they call the geologic center of the city, believe it or not) that will be completed in 2010, at which the old hospital will be vacated and renovated. should make traffic fun there for a couple of years! Especially when you consider the various ramps to/from bw8 and I-10 are to be demolished in the near future. I look forward to this being comleted, though. Should make for an excellent addition to the city.
  12. County wants to buy Memorial Hermann SW Hospital district purchase could run to $185 million By PEGGY O'HARE HOUSTON CHRONICLE Aug. 6, 2009, 9:36PM The Harris County Hospital District has tentatively agreed to buy Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital this fall with hopes of expanding medical care access to the uninsured and underprivileged, hospital officials announced Thursday. The sale, if approved by Harris County Commissioners Court, would allow the county's hospital district to add 600 beds to its system to keep up with public demand. Officials with both hospital networks declined to relea
  13. I heard they are going to demo that 'landmark' building to pave way for mixed-use development. Anyone has any info on that development?
  14. Yes, this is going up. "Colgate-Palmolive is awarding all nine participating hospitals a Fun Center..."; however, "Voting remains open through February 29, and the hospital that receives the most support will receive an additional Fun Center" - presently Houston and Detroit each have 31.2x% of the vote, with Atlanta and Philadelphia running a distant third and fourth at about half that. http://www.colgate.com/app/Colgate/US/Corp...-love/vote.cvsp will take you all of ten seconds to complete, if you will. You can vote once per 24 hour period, so a total of thirty seconds of your workweek would
  15. Anybody here have any idea when the Memorial-Hermann Branch Hospital on 1960 just north of 290 will open? The signage said it was to open last summer, but that didn't happen. I drove past it just last week and it still isn't open. What gives?
  16. Noticing a great deal of construction along the 290 corridor past FM 1960 with 4 new hospitals and an array of professional buildings under development. So far we're looking at Memorial Hermann, Columbia HCA, North Cypress Medical Center, and another unnamed project near Cypress-Rosehill.
  17. I was searching for a rendering on Kirksey's website for the new project over the rail station and came across this. I searched HAIF to see if this article from Texas Construction had been brought up before and didn't find anything. It's a laundry list of Memorial Hermann projects in the works for the greater Houston area, many that we are already aware of. It is construction focused though and has interesting details on some of the projects. The Making of a Med-Tropolis Memorial Hermann Building More Than $1 Billion in New Projects Memorial Hermann is utilizing a variety of financing mecha
