In a move that surprised some but didn't with others, HPD Police Chief Art Acevedo recently announced he was leaving the Space City for South Beach & becoming the new police chief of the Miami PD in Miami, FL. In his last press conference, he also got into another testy exchange with NBC 2 KPRC-TV Houston reporter Mario Diaz. Texas Monthly had an article detailing how Acevedo managed to piss off everybody. Give me your thoughts on Acevedo's tenure as HPD Police Chief & how he'll be remembered ? Yesterday inside Houston City Hall: Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner (D) announced Troy Finner would become the new HPD Police Chief replacing Acevedo.

Unless all of y'all have been living under rocks, there has been increase of violent crime impacting the Lone Star State's largest city including a rising murder rate inside the City of Houston due to what Houston Crime Stopper's victim advocate Andy Kahn calls "bond pandemic". https://abc13.com/houston-murder-rate-homicide-hpd-update-8121534/ https://www.insurancejournal.com/news/southcentral/2020/12/09/593466.htm https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/texas-news/houston-authorities-target-rise-in-road-rage-amid-pandemic/2500231/ https://www.theblaze.com/op-ed/horowitz-houston-accused-murderer-released-from-jail-5-months-later-for-another-murder The weak-kneed progressive criminal court judges as well as the STUPIDITY of radical liberal Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo (D) have let criminals wreaking havoc on the streets of Houston with the progressive garbage of bond reform, bail reform & other liberal weak on crime garbage. Any thoughts on the violent crime ?

In the wake of 16 people hospitalized from overdoses of synthetic cannabinoids known as Kush or K2, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner has vowed to "take back our parks" by bulking up police presence there & in other "hot spots" across citywide. Turner had announced on Thursday an "aggressive plan" in creating a 50-person downtown police patrol division, the transfer of about 175 officers to patrol beats, an overtime program to add roving bike & golf-cart patrols in city parks & the hiring of 13 park rangers. "They are scaring away families & taxing our emergency medical services with their calls for help when they overdose," Turner said. "We can't have people smoking Kush & passing out just feet from where our children are playing." http://abc13.com/news/houston-mayor-takes-aim-at-citys-kush-epidemic/1407870/
