Ladies and gentlemen, here are some clips from some weekend newscasts of KTRK Ch. 13 Eyewitness News back in the day and one of them, covers the Rendezvous Houston concert during the week of March 31-April 5, 1986: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Db6dRG0jgHQ Ch. 13 Eyewitness News opens/news reports at 1:32, 53:11-54:37 and again from 59:37-1:02:52 I've noticed in the 1:32 mark, they had Shara Fryer in the 6pm newscasts, I believe she joined the 6pm news in 1986 (besides already doing Live at 5). Here's some of the weekend news anchors of KTRK Ch. 13 and give input to tell where are and what they're doing now: Van Hackett (1980-1987): Reporter/Anchor: did Live at 5 for a brief time before moving to the weekends around 1983 and stayed there until leaving the station in the summer of 1987. Diana Fallis: the station's first African American female weekend anchor for several years. Jim Rosenfeld (1983-1989): Reporter/Anchor: replaced Hackett in the summer of 1987 in the weekend newscasts and co-anchored with Debbi Johnson between 1987 until the spring of 1989. Alan Hemberger (RIP): (1989-1998): Replaced Rosenfeld on the weekends during the spring of 1989 and was there until 1990, when he was moved to Live at 5 and anchored on the 5pm weekday newscasts until 1998. Then briefly worked in Austin before moving back to Houston to work for KIAH-TV CW 39. Debbi Johnson (1979 ?-1991): Reporter and later weekend anchor: replaced Melanie Lawson in the summer of 1987 (who moved to Live at 5) and co-anchored the weekend newscasts with Jim Rosenfeld (1987-1989), Alan Hemberger (1989-1990) and Bob Boudreaux (1990-1991). Minerva Perez (1991-2007): Co-anchored weekend newscasts with Bob Boudreaux (1991-2001) and later co-anchored Mid-Day newscasts until leaving in 2007. Tim Melton (1981-2013): Weekend sports anchor until his retirement due to health problems Ed Brandon (1972-2007): Did weekend weather reports alongside weekdays. Roland Galvan (1986-1988): Briefly did weekend weather reports for Ch. 13 before moving to KPRC-TV NBC 2 If I've left anyone out, let me know and you can post some old videos from the 70s-80s of KTRK Ch. 13 weekend newscasts.

While McGuff was on vacation, Jerry Vazquez (executive producer for Ch. 13), was named the news director for KTMD-TV Telemundo 47 last week on July 31st. Today was his first day as the Houston Telemundo station's Vice President of News. "I am excited to be joining a great team of professionals that are established in the market," Vazquez told mikemcguff.com. "Together we are going to do some great things and grow the station." http://mikemcguff.blogspot.com/2014/07/jerry-vazquez-ktmd-telemundo-houston-news-director.html http://www.broadcastingcable.com/news/fates-and-fortunes/vazquez-named-ktmd-houston-vp-news/132940 Any reaction on Vazquez leaving Ch. 13 to tackle the news director gig at KTMD ?

Dermond Fernandez, reporter for KTRK-TV Ch. 13 and videographer Gerzain Garcia went to the home of Larry Ricketts, 73, of Huffman to interview Ricketts on-camera about the sexual assault allegations that Ricketts was accused of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl. Ricketts responded by pointing a handgun at the news team, as was seen on Garcia's videotape. Mike McGuff of McGuff blog and the Harris County Sheriff's office reported this story and I want to know what is y'all reaction to this incident ? http://mikemcguff.blgospot.com/2014/02/ktrk-abc13-crew-gets-gun-pulled-on-them.html
