Is this guy b.s. or what? I haven't heard anything about it: "Dudes and Ladies, I was very upset when I heard from a business owner in River Oaks Plaza that later this year, early next, they are getting rid of the theater to put in a 30 story high-rise. word is, they are axing black eyed pea too, for a multi-level parking garage." You can read the rest here: http://members.boardhost.com/hands_up/msg/1151627265.html Anyone know anything?

This is the shopping center with the Randall’s at Bellaire & Bissonnet. https://s25.q4cdn.com/658894972/files/doc_presentations/2020/11/3Q20-Roadshow-(Nareit).pdf A planned multi-story mixed-use redevelopment is in the works. Wonder if they’re signaling that the Randall’s will be closing, making the shopping center obsolete.

This is the shopping center at 8110 -8236 Kirby Drive that has the Fiesta, Office Depot, Pets Mart, Ross Dress For Less, and more. Found a popular fried chicken place going in. The restaurant is named Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken. https://gusfriedchicken.com/

To anyone who has lunched at Grand Lux in the Galleria area, I have a couple of questions. How well-lit is the resturant at lunchtime, and do you remember what is the price range of the lunch menu (if they have one)? I've looked at the website, but the online menu doesn't show any prices. Thanks in advance.

Weingarten moving forward on the Alabama theater: Link Looks like they're going to hollow out all its character and turn it into a box store.

Two KIMCO retail developments stand to generate 800k square feet of retail space along Kuykendahl and the recently opened Grand Parkway in Spring. The Grand Parkway Marketplace will be north of Spring Stuebner with frontage along the Grand Parkway and Kuykendahl. Spring Crossings will be south of Spring Stuebner with frontage along Kuykendahl. Both tracts will also have Northcrest Drive access. http://marketing.kimcorealty.com/File/MarketingBrochure/webapps/generate_marketing_brochure.asp?ref=15256&do=|3| http://marketing.kimcorealty.com/File/MarketingBrochure/webapps/generate_marketing_brochure.asp?ref=15796&do=|3| Seems possible that the anchor tenant of Grand Parkway Marketplace may be already decided given the specific square footage of 126,174 sq ft. HEB perhaps??? I believe they were the ones who filed the plat for the parcel south of Spring Stuebner not too long ago. Anyone have more info?

This site will be redeveloped into a more-urban retail center. Sears will move out to a temporary location until the completion. Also includes residential; the rendering on page 5 may be one of the project. http://issuu.com/weingartenrealty/docs/sears_vision_book-print

There is a huge "For Lease" sign on the lot that holds Kroger, Subway, Walgreens, etc. at 19th & Yale. Anyone know what's happening with that? The strip could definitely use a facelift, but i sure hope they don't tear it down and build yet MORE apartments/townhomes. . . Any thoughts/knowledge?

Finally they are going to tear down the strip shopping center on W. 43rd at Ella and re-build. This center has been mostly vacant and an eyesore for many years. Word is tenants just found out last week that they have to be out by March. Owner says it will be a year before new center is ready for move in. This leaves the few tenants there in a fix. Radio Shack is moving inventory to their W 34th St. location. The 99 cent store has reduced prices to 89 cents (hurry in for your big savings). Hallmark is probably getting the hardest hit. They have been in this center for at least 20 years and had the nicest spot. They are hoping to relocate in N. Shephard. I feel bad for the business owners but I am thrilled that they are finally doing something. Maybe we can get some good retail to come into the hood.
