Developer buys Independence Heights property to build 500-unit apartment building. https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2022/03/16/cj-development-buys-independence-heights-property.html 500 units in 9 stories over 3 story parking garage with 16,000 SQFT of retail. Developer plans to break ground by the end of the year.

Durham Dr. between West 13th Street and West 12th Street, is owned by Brinker/Sloan Properties and The Blue Ox Group is also its leasing agent. The plan is to build up to 5 6-story buildings with retail on the lower levels. 600-650 Units total with between 60-70KSF for retail between all of the structures. They still need to get permits but want to begin building next year. Identity Architects is the designer, Rockville Construction is the GC.
