There was some activity at the long abandoned commercial structure at 2020 Travis. Workers just said that they were "cleaning it out", but they were taking down all the ceiling light fixture and pretty much everything inside. Anyone know what might be going on here?

There are CBRE signs up at the Bethel Church at 1107 Shepherd, or the block bounded by Shepherd, Durham, Center and Nett. This might create difficulty for the restaurant formerly known as Floyd's, since they use the church parking lot for their customers. Redevelopment planned for the old Rex Supply building on Harrisburg at Milby. This is near the Second Ward/Coffee Plant stop on METRO Green Line light rail. Looks to be mixed-use retail with plans for a three story garage. Definitely would be a welcome addition near the Sampson/York corridor. http://swamplot.com/what-rex-supplys-harrisburg-complex-would-look-like-with-restaurants-throngs-of-pedestrians-taking-over-its-thru-street/2018-09-20/ https://www.hpiproperties.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/milby-junction-1.pdf Special thanks to Swamplot for finding this (or at least making me aware of it lol)

There's a large (for this neighborhood) steel-framed building going up on the north side of Westheimer in the 500 block (approximately where the Happy Budda used to be). Also, across the street a smaller building is going up in a former vacant lot (wedged between the strip center and the VA services building.) Anyone know what businesses are going into these new buildings? edit: I'm also curious about the lot at Whitney and Westheimer (northeast corner). An old house was moved to this site a few years ago; for a while it was used as offices for a used car lot, then a short-lived nightclub called Da House. I see everything above the first floor has been removed. Is it being moved again? Any idea what might go in its place?

Nice article on a new development in the Up-Town area. http://www.bizjournals.com/bizspace/housto...tory_id=1176985 The property is located at: here I thought the comment on Houston's good ol' laissez faire property development in lieu of legislative land use restrictions was interesting. It was just one of those things you knew, but hadn't really thought of it that way.

I was driving down Sage this morning to ge my breakfast at Chica Fila, and could not help but notice the huge crane that is imbetween the apartment complex 3000 sage and the new shopping center still under construction. It is much taller than the one they have up at the Holiday Inn construciton site. Does anyone have any idea what they are building? Just curious.
