  1. 13 just had a story about a proposed 23 story high rise and how southhampton and boulevard oaks are complaining about the increased density/traffic etc that will result. they will be tearing down some older apartments to create this project. story
  2. Looks like Pelican has a new project once The Wilshire is finished. 17 stories and 58 units. There's a render in PaperCityMag but I am too dumb to figure out how to post it here. Expecting to break ground summer of 2016. http://www.papercitymag.com/interiors/the-homey-high-rise-new-houston-tower-6300-woodway-places-comfort-over-gadgets/#2 http://www.papercitymag.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/6300_Wooday-465x620.jpg

  5. The property at 212 Milam St., presently occupied by the more-or-less abandoned Chase Motor Bank across the street to the north from Market Square Tower, has recently been listed for sale: https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/212-Milam-St-Houston-TX/15558588/ Here's hoping for some nice redevelopment to extend the skyline further north.

  10. Says 31-stories on the slide, but it has been revised to 33-stories; the design is the same except for the top and facade details. I don't know much else unfortunately. HPA_Urban_Architecture_Digital2.pdf Edit: Revised design below.
  11. Wow. Very interesting. http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/morning_call/2015/12/exclusive-condominium-tower-planned-for-greater.html The 35-story condo tower would have between 120 to 150 units, ranging in size from 1,200 square feet to 3,200 square feet and in price from $230,000 to $1.2 million. The units would feature naturally heated and cooled floors and high-end finishes. “We see an opportunity for condos in Houston,” Trujillo said. “The younger generation isn’t looking for the white picket fence in the suburbs anymore.”
  12. This project here is listed as "Gray + Houston". I don't have enough to know if it's for Houston or not. GDA is a Dallas-based architect, behind the design for Chelsea-Montrose and Crest at Fondren. http://gda-architects.com/gda-gray---houston.html

  15. River Oaks/Welsh Building, 210 Welch @ Persa, (Vermont Place Subdivision) 77019 owned by Kaldis Realty rumored to be demolished to make way for new high-rise. Tenants to be vacated by April 25th.
  16. Let's take a poll and see if HAIFers can predict the future.
  17. I've found this on ziegler cooper's website... http://www.zieglercooper.com/jennings_island.htm
  18. I was checking out har.com and found several condos in the $40-70k range at THE SUSSEX highrise on 7520 Hornwood Dr near Sharpstown mall off of 59. Does anyone know if this is a nice condo complex to live in? What about the area of town? Along the same lines, anyone have any thoughts of 2016 Main in Downtown? I'm looking for a purchase a condo but I would like to keep the price under 80k if possible. Does anyone know where I could get info on maintience fees for condos in Houston? Har does not list them. Thanks Josh
  19. at the corner of Cypresswood and Champions Forest there was a sign for several years that stated a luxury high rise would be built....I never recall seeing a backhoe ready to dig though...will it ever be built or it was wishful thinking?
  20. Ok you guys as I was headed toward Houston today, I saw this tower (currently on the 2nd floor and I sorta knew that somethng was being built there) but, I don't know how it will look when completed.... Its kind of ironic how the Galveston County Daily News did a story on this today though, they even have a pic. Photo by Kevin M. Cox So, can someone find a rendering and more infomation on this please? _________ Also two more towers are going up (possibly) right on the side of the feeder road near Nasa Road 1 in Clear Lake. They had a rendering and a "coming soon" sign on the site (before Ike now its gone) but, nothing happened for a while. Now today there were some equipment on the site. All I can say is when they had the renderings up for this, it was two towers, blueish/greenish glass and somewhere between 4-6 floors (maybe more, maybe less). Can someone find more information on this as well?
  21. I apologize in advance if this is either built or has been posted here already. Just looking online and came across this. Anybody know of it? http://www.wdgdallas.com/ The description is 33-story, 307 unit residential with 83,000 sqft. of retail. Look under Retail.
  22. slightly off topic.... to anyone that knows the area: what's the feasability of building a 25-30 story high rise in the outlined lot? just curious.... for now. i borrowed your pic, mancuso... if that' all right.
  23. Hi, I was trying to look up some info for my mom about moving to the highrise condo building off of Gessner between Memorial and Briarforest. It's on the east side of Gessner. Can't miss it really. Maybe I should just drive by there. I've looked everywhere on the internet and can't seem to find the name. Does anyone know? 2nd, does anyone know if this is comparable to other places in terms of price or is it more expensive than others? Thank you.
  24. This advertisement was in the June 1975 issue of Houston Home & Garden magazine. The same units are going for $215,000 up to $329,000. The Woodway was built in 1974. You can peruse the units for sale at http://www.har.com/highrisefinder/dispHighriseDetail.cfm.
  25. Has anyone happened to notice the 8-10 story condos going up on the east side of Montrose at West Gray (a couple blocks north of Dallas)? I haven't seen any postings about it, but there are several things to like: 1. Location is appropriate, since it is a midrise on a major street 2. Extends dense housing north almost to Allen Parkway 3. The front is close to the street (even if the parking extends all the way to the back of the block) It is not remarkable looking, but it is a great building block (pardon the pun). It should attract a much more conservative buyer than some of the other crazy stuff that has gone up in Montrose. This is the kind of buidling design I have imagine for West Gray between Shepherd and Dunlavy. It has a lot of shopping, which I think would be really attractive to insert some dense housing into. It is actually kind of strange that no one has tried . . . other than Randall Davis, but I think he missed the market, which should be River Oaks residents who want to get rid of their yards. With just a few buildings among the shops, it would be a very interesting, 24-hour area . . .
