  4. Is this guy b.s. or what? I haven't heard anything about it: "Dudes and Ladies, I was very upset when I heard from a business owner in River Oaks Plaza that later this year, early next, they are getting rid of the theater to put in a 30 story high-rise. word is, they are axing black eyed pea too, for a multi-level parking garage." You can read the rest here: http://members.boardhost.com/hands_up/msg/1151627265.html Anyone know anything?

  8. The variance was approved, the Hanover group is building apartments on the sight. The city was concerned that the variance would interfere with the Fulton to downtown crossings, apparently Hanover assuaged those concerned. The City did push back so apparently the development will continue. There are also plans to build a brewery on Burnett, and land was cleared in the last two weeks on Burnett to build a large set of Condominiums or townhomes. Unless there is a significant economic downturn, next year will be a big one for the Hardy Yards. The title 3 Apartment complex should be complete in 20

  10. I saw this on Swamplot today. It doesn't seem like it's for sure but I hope that they do something with this building and not tear it down. I hope they keep the retail on the street level too. http://swamplot.com/redo-plans-for-the-office-building-at-3400-montrose-blvd/2012-07-23/
  11. A new 26 story high-rise is going to be built on Montrose where the current M2M clothing store/SkyBar building stands...According to my realtor, the property has been purchased, along with a home and several townhomes behind the building. They will all be torn down....the new building will have 2 floors of retail, 5 floors of parking, and the rest will be residential, including 5 townhomes and 2 huge (6000 sq ft) penthouses. Condo sizes will start around 900 sq ft with pricing from the low $200's. There aren't any publicly available renderings yet.... That's all the detail I can remember fr
  12. I just noticed a "request for variance" sign in front of the Tavern Bar, which is located at West Gray and Waugh. The Hanover Company's name is on the sign, and they're requesting a 15' setback, and it also said they're going to build something "multi-family". Does anybody have any additional information on this? Could it be a mid-rise? or a high-rise? or simply another apartment complex? Hanover does some nice stuff, so I'm curious.

  15. It is clear by now that many developers are focusing rennovating the strip of Post Oak from Westheimer to San Felipe. What about the areas between San Felipe and 610 (towards uptown Park?) The only building that fits the neighborhood is 1200 Post Oak Blvd. (apt. complex across from the McDonalds.) Everything else is old (i.e., Inverness and Winhall condos and dreadful 111 Post Oak Apts.). Those developments stick out like a sore thumb when looking at the beuaty and architecture of Uptown Park, Montebello, Villa D'este, and 1200 Post Oak, etc). Are there any plans to do massive reconstruc
