  1. Variance sign is up for a 10' setback for a multifamily project at 580 N. Shepherd. Presto Maintenance Supply sold their company and moved out recently. Keep your eyes peeled for the next planning commission agenda for more details.
  2. Deco 969, a new 27-story luxury high-rise, has broken ground in Fort Worth at 969 Commerce Street. The project, which is being developed by Southern Land Company, will be downtown Fort Worth’s first luxury high-rise rental residences. The project will span over 300,000-sf and feature 302 for-rent efficiency, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartment homes and penthouses. Deco 969 will also include eight floors of above-grade parking, resort-inspired amenities, and retail and restaurant space on the first floor. “We are proud to bring the first luxury high-rise rental residences to downtown Fort Worth, a location that boasts great character, notable destinations, and convenient access to plentiful businesses and services,” said Tim Downey, Southern Land Company Founder and CEO, in a release. “Deco 969 is poised to provide a one-of-a-kind lifestyle to residents seeking a refined living experience downtown—and to attract more transformative projects that will only add to Fort Worth’s vibrant culture and economy. We are so appreciative of the support of the City of Fort Worth and Downtown Fort Worth, Inc. for championing this project.” Design and engineering partners on the project include: GDA Architects Kimley-Horn (civil engineer) Thornton Tomasetti (structural engineer) Faulkner Design Group (interior design) Rone Engineering of Dallas (geotechnical engineer) Basharkhah Engineering (BEI; mechanical and electrical engineer). SLC’s in-house commercial construction team is serving as general contractor. Additionally, SLC is the landscape architect on the project. https://www.bdcnetwork.com/
  3. 4-Story, 381-unit apartment mid-rise proposed at the corner of Taylor/Spring St. http://gdainet.com/gda-crest-at-taylor.html
  4. Crest at Fondren - NE Corner of Westheimer and Fondren
  5. This project here is listed as "Gray + Houston". I don't have enough to know if it's for Houston or not. GDA is a Dallas-based architect, behind the design for Chelsea-Montrose and Crest at Fondren. http://gda-architects.com/gda-gray---houston.html
  6. Anyone know if something is going up on this site? I drove by it tonight and it's cleared with fence surrounding the property.
  7. I was driving into town yesterday and notice a new construction crane off of woodway. It looked to be about 20 stories high. Can anyone tell me what this is for?
  8. It is clear by now that many developers are focusing rennovating the strip of Post Oak from Westheimer to San Felipe. What about the areas between San Felipe and 610 (towards uptown Park?) The only building that fits the neighborhood is 1200 Post Oak Blvd. (apt. complex across from the McDonalds.) Everything else is old (i.e., Inverness and Winhall condos and dreadful 111 Post Oak Apts.). Those developments stick out like a sore thumb when looking at the beuaty and architecture of Uptown Park, Montebello, Villa D'este, and 1200 Post Oak, etc). Are there any plans to do massive reconstruction for those areas to better align with the rest of the proposed projects on Post Oak Blvd? Lastly, what is the "Great Room"? (the "tent" building by the Bently dealership)
