  1. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/business/5473590.html The replies are hilarious, too.
  2. There could possibly be a new HEB going up on the northeast corner of FM 2920 and Gosling road in Spring. There has been talks between HEB officials and Bridgestone Mud officials on the nearly 11 acre tract of land before the company purchases it. The main concern with the tract of land is the detention pond that takes up a good portion of it. HEB wants to minimize the size of the detention pond for the store's parking lot. There is no word yet on the size of the future store or it's amenities. There will be a gas station and car wash. I found this new location a bit odd being that the nearest HEB at FM 2920 and Spring Cypress is only 3 miles east of this tract of land. Another new location just opened last year at Kuykendahl and Creekside. A new store will also open at Boudreaux Rd. and Champion Forest Dr. next year. This Texas born grocery chain is definitely growing at a rather fast past.
  3. There's a large building going in on the south side of Lowe's. Anybody know what it is? is it the long-rumored Academy?
  4. Does anyone know what is going up on the north side of 2920 just west of the freeway ? Looks like it may border the holzwarth extension that goes to the new spring woods village . Huge parcel of land with lots of activity!
  5. Located at the northeast and southeast corners of FM 2920 and Kuykendahl Road, Spring Town Center is strategically located at the heart of vast residential growth in Houston, Texas. Situated approximately four miles west of Interstate 45, FM 2920 is a vital artery leading to the Tomball area, as well as other developments in northwest Harris County and Montgomery County. There are 115 residential developments in the immediate vicinity of Spring Town Center, and Kuykendahl Road provides access to the highly successful Woodlands
  6. Anyone know what the small buliding on the north side of FM2920 acroos from the new HEB is going to be? Looks like fast food.
  7. Hello all; I've been aware of HAIF for years, but only occasionally dropped by... now, of course, that neglect of this vital forum has come back to bite me, as my neighbors and I have been caught off guard by a proposed TDHCA tax-subsidized low-income apartment complex set for possible approval, to be constructed directly across from my subdivision, Windrose, in NW Harris county, off FM 2920/Gosling & Kuykendahl/Pinelakes Blvd. For more information, please check out www.stopgoslingoaks.blogspot.com We created a GoogleMap here. Word is rapidly spreading across Windrose and surrounding subdivisions... but we are definitely behind the eight-ball on this one, and need to respond quickly and effectively to kill this project. We are therefore throwing ourselves on the mercy of fellow HAIF participants... we know these types of projects have been studied, discussed, and opposed for years now, and we know that many of you have experience and contacts on how best to fight. Please, please share your knowledge. We are, among anything else you consider valuable, looking for: Strategies; what you know doesn't work and we shouldn't bother with; what might work and we should devote some effort to; what would be certain to work and we absolutely must do. Tips: Links to resources, webpages, research practices to help us gather the types of information we need quickly. Attorneys/advisers: Ideally pro-bono, but also possibly not; we are serious about killing this project, and if you are (or know) an expert who can take the fight to TDHCA and beat this developer on the bureaucracy's own terms, we're open to passing the plate and seeing if we can afford you. Remember that desperate, panicked feeling you felt when you first learned a tax-subsidized low-income apartment complex was scheduled for YOUR neighborhood? That's the suffering we are mired in right now. Have mercy. Help if you can. Thanks.
  8. It looks like clearing has finally begun for the new "proposed" HEB(per New Quest Properties' website) at 2920 and Spring Cypress. Does anyone know what type of HEB it is going to be if in fact it is going to be an HEB?
  9. Thats not good about Taco Cabana. We need more mexican restaurants in this area or even a good chinese restaurant(even though one is opening in the Kroger shopping center next to the nail store). Spring Creek is a family owned so that is why it will come sooner like the strip malls which are not corporate owned so they go up quicker and than they just rent them out for profit since it is individuals who own those strip malls. I am trying to figure out what is going in front of Lowes in that empty area across from Springbrook. Someone mentioned Burger King but there is already one on Louetta so that would not make sense. I also heard awhile back that they were trying to do an indoor flea market style in that empty center across lowes that has fence around it but that was 6 months ago looks like nothing every happened. Looks like Schlotzkys should open in a few weeks.
  10. http://www.gadfy.com/projectdetails.asp?id=5 Apparently it's already under construction and 60% leased. more pictures at the link
