  6. Earlier this year, there was a news item that Occidental (Oxy) was in talks to buy Conoco's (now ConocoPhillips) old headquarters on Katy Freeway. More recently the business media has reported that Oxy has put all of their Greenway Plaza space up for sublease and that the space will be available when Oxy moves to a "a newly constructed, owned property to the west.” Of course, not a single business reporter in this town has managed to discover or, so as we know, even inquire about, WHERE Oxy is building their new headquarters, how big it might be, who is the architect, etc etc. Has
  7. HBJ reports today that ExxonMobil plans to build a new very large campus in Spring (west of I-45 at the point where the Hardy Toll Road intersects with I-45). The plan is to consolidate pretty much everything except for the downtown operations. Also reports a rumor that at least parts of the Refining & Marketing HQ operations may move from Virginia.
  8. This one blew me away! On the front page of the Villager is an article about them imploding the relatively new 11-story Timberloch Tower. At first I thought maybe it was because Anadarko was going to move forward with it's third tower but alas the site will be prepped for reforestation. *eyes watering* Not that there's anything architectually spectacular about the building, it's still going to take away from The Woodlands skyline. The building was built in 1998 and apparently has been vacant over a year! I find it hard to believe they couldn't find a tenant to fill the building or
  9. Here's a rendering I found from PCG now called prismrendering. Its Sabic's new offices in the Sugar Land. http://prismrenderings.com/?s=&custom_type=renderings&custom_market=corporate&post_type=prism_projects&order=DESC&orderby=title&posts_per_page=10&search_refer=prism_projects
  10. This is a few years away as of now. They also didn't mention where these would be built. In the same spot or a different location? http://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/houston/article/City-plans-hugely-important-new-justice-complex-5094942.php?cmpid=albtfp
  11. "ConocoPhillips refining offshoot Phillips 66 will build a new headquarters facility no more than 10 miles away from the company’s current location, “within the I-10 and Beltway 8 corridors,”......" http://swamplot.com/...ton/2012-03-20/ This will probably be a suburban campus-type property like the existing headquarters, but this is still cool to hear.

  14. Academy is building a 4 floor, tilt wall building at their corporate HQ on Mason Rd. just N. of I-10. This will probably be their new HQ building but I have no clue about the sq. ft. and if they will build a parking garage or not. Why I am posting this is because of how close the fourth floor of this building is to the KVA Power lines that are part of the Texas electrical grid that connect regions and generating plants. These lines are the largest transmission lines in Texas and they are the tallest towers you will see around the state with the exception of towers that carry the lines over

  18. Halliburton Co. will move from its offices in downtown Houston and build a 16-story tower in the Energy Corridor under a sweeping plan to consolidate its local operations at two redeveloped office parks by 2012, the company said Friday. The oil-field services giant, now with five facilities in the area, will relocate 5,200 local employees to the two campuses but is not planning layoffs as part of the move, a company spokeswoman said. However, the company recently said it laid off an undisclosed number of workers amid a downturn in oil and gas drilling activity. Rivals Schlumberger and Baker H

  22. Score another one for Sugar Land. Fingers Furniture plans to move its corporate headquarters from Houston to Sugar Land in May 2007 as part of its plan to rapidly expand here. The 21-acre site will eventually house a 500,000-square-foot warehouse and 35,000 square feet of office space, said Robert Finger, president and chief executive officer of the company. The company searched for three years to find the right location for a move from its current headquarters on the Gulf Freeway at Cullen. View the entire story here.
  23. The large TX DOT site just north of I-10 on the east side of Washington has construction activity -- bulldozers clearing what has been a large empty lot for some time know. Does anyone have any information on what may be happening here. Wishful thinking says a new supermarket/shopping center (please!), but I'm guessing new apartment or town-home complex or something for TX DOT. Anyone have any information? Inquiring minds want to know!
