  1. http://blog.chron.com/primeproperty/2012/07/inner-loop-tract-slated-for-huge-mixed-use-project/ Gensler is the architect.
  2. Here's the best info from the article: The project has broken ground: http://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/columnists/sarnoff/article/High-end-office-building-underway-west-of-downtown-5920360.php#/3

  4. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/business/5473590.html The replies are hilarious, too.
  5. San Felipe Plaza, Sunset, originally uploaded by zoomanderson1. San Felipe Plaza bids adieu to another day in Houston. The architect, Richard Keating, once told HAIF that it was one of his favorites. Shame about the location, though. It so often gets overlooked. A little closer to Uptown or downtown would have done wonders. Thanks to zoomanderson1 for the photo from the HAIF Flickr group.
  6. Rumor on the street is that Cameron acquired 25 acres from Apache. I believe this location is the former Dow Chemical HQ at 400 West Sam Houston Parkway. They have real estate all over the city, particularly in Westway Park. This must be a large consolidation for them. Apparently going to include over 1 million square feet of office. Patrinely will develop it for Cameron...you have to believe the architect will be Gensler. Same team currently developing Southwestern Energy's new HQ in Springwoods Village. How many energy companies are left to build new campuses for?
  7. Last I checked, the Skanska project has 5 tunnel connections. Also I think we should all remember that Linebeck, Skanska, and Hines are all chasing the same group of potential tenants. I think we will see one of the three go in the next year maybe two if we are lucky. Now the good news is that there is a 50ish story tower that will beat all 3 of these out of the ground.
  8. Our fair city is 2nd only to NYC in Fortune 500 companies 2006 Listings
  9. Stopped by the site today. Awesome looking property. Had a conversation with the neighbor. It's actually two homes and some land by the bayou. The neighbor said apartments would be terrible due to the small road around that bend. The 4 acres down the street, formerly The Monaco, is owned by a Canadian guy.
  10. From the HBJ, I don't have access to the whole article: "The Four Oaks Place office complex may soon be more appropriately named Five Oaks Place. The owner of the 1.8 million-square-foot office complex in the Galleria area is looking at spending between $100 million and $120 million to develop a new office building at 1550 Post Oak Blvd., where a 24 Hour Fitness is currently located" It's about to get busy in that area... 11. Does anyone know if/where Micro Center would be relocating if this is true? From Swamplot: http://swamplot.com/did-micro-center-just-sell-its-houston-location-to-amegy-bank/2014-02-25/ Webcam: http://www.workzonecam.com/projects/amegybank/amegybank/workzonecam Renderings:

  13. Earlier this year, there was a news item that Occidental (Oxy) was in talks to buy Conoco's (now ConocoPhillips) old headquarters on Katy Freeway. More recently the business media has reported that Oxy has put all of their Greenway Plaza space up for sublease and that the space will be available when Oxy moves to a "a newly constructed, owned property to the west.” Of course, not a single business reporter in this town has managed to discover or, so as we know, even inquire about, WHERE Oxy is building their new headquarters, how big it might be, who is the architect, etc etc. Has anyone heard anything?
  14. HBJ reports today that ExxonMobil plans to build a new very large campus in Spring (west of I-45 at the point where the Hardy Toll Road intersects with I-45). The plan is to consolidate pretty much everything except for the downtown operations. Also reports a rumor that at least parts of the Refining & Marketing HQ operations may move from Virginia.
  15. http://tanglewoodproperty.com/5599-san-felipe/ The proposed fitness center has been on the books for a year or two. I visit the site once a month so I keep looking. Image credits: Tanglewood Property Group
  16. This one blew me away! On the front page of the Villager is an article about them imploding the relatively new 11-story Timberloch Tower. At first I thought maybe it was because Anadarko was going to move forward with it's third tower but alas the site will be prepped for reforestation. *eyes watering* Not that there's anything architectually spectacular about the building, it's still going to take away from The Woodlands skyline. The building was built in 1998 and apparently has been vacant over a year! I find it hard to believe they couldn't find a tenant to fill the building or to get somebody to buy it. I'm sad. http://www.chron.com/neighborhood/woodlands/news/article/Timberloch-Tower-in-The-Woodlands-to-be-demolished-11001852.php
  17. Here's a rendering I found from PCG now called prismrendering. Its Sabic's new offices in the Sugar Land. http://prismrenderings.com/?s=&custom_type=renderings&custom_market=corporate&post_type=prism_projects&order=DESC&orderby=title&posts_per_page=10&search_refer=prism_projects
  18. I am guessing this will be Noel's Corporate HQ, the parking got meshed with their new building. Site: Rendering: http://tiltpixel.com/album/corporate/
  19. This is a few years away as of now. They also didn't mention where these would be built. In the same spot or a different location? http://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/houston/article/City-plans-hugely-important-new-justice-complex-5094942.php?cmpid=albtfp
  20. "ConocoPhillips refining offshoot Phillips 66 will build a new headquarters facility no more than 10 miles away from the company’s current location, “within the I-10 and Beltway 8 corridors,”......" http://swamplot.com/...ton/2012-03-20/ This will probably be a suburban campus-type property like the existing headquarters, but this is still cool to hear.

  22. From the Bisnow article: http://www.bisnow.com/commercial-real-estate/houston/2260-why-you-should-get-into-seniors-housing/
  23. Looks like the Exxon-Mobile campus has sparked more development; this time a 10-story building for Southwestern Energy. Per the article, the building is to be located at the corner of I-45 and the Hardy (which is probably just a generic location for SWV itself). http://www.bizjourna...ds-village.html
  24. My elevator guy just told me Shell is planning on building a 35-40 story tower in The Woodlands and that Anadarko wants to build another one too. Can anyone confirm this?
  25. Source: Link Exxon set a trend. Expect more news out of this area... Shell.
