  2. https://protecttanglewood.com/updates/ Location The Watermark Tanglewood (1661 Tanglewood Blvd.) Watermark Retirement Communities recently mailed a selective announcement to property owners in the area of a proposed 20 story, 62-year and older luxury community along with a marketing survey and invitation to a focus group study. The proposed site is owned by WMJK Ltd. The THA Board is still trying to gather information and understand if any alternative options might be available, such as potentially raising capital for private purchase of the property and converting it to a green space. It appears Watermark is currently in the due diligence and marketing phase for this development. Further communication will be forwarded as facts are obtained. Anyone interested in attending the Planning Seminar/Focus Group on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 may call the market survey company ProMatura at 800-201-1483.
  3. 15-Story Tower on Bancroft Lane and Bettis Drive. https://highland-tower.com/index.html Just drove by the property for the first time in a month or two and I noticed that there were "dirty barriers" up and seems like quite a bit of it was dug up. No other evidence of construction, though.
  4. Villa D'Estes are also "respectable" buildings, but certainly not striking. Seems as though the approach for uptown park was very "classic conservatism". I can accept that.
  5. Anyone know what's going on next to the Federal Reserve on Allen Pkway?

  7. I'll be careful how I describe this location as there are SO MANY banks in this area that it gets confusing (and a bit hysterical). This is along the north side of San Felipe and just east of Garrettson Lane (I got the address by clicking "What is here?" on google maps [to no avail], so it may be inaccurate). Uptown Oaks: 34-Story Senior Living High-Rise At 4718 San Felipe St. Anyway, chain link fence around the site, digging in the back away from San Felipe... it kind of looks like utility work, but I didn't have my binoculars when I was in Panera. The bank has been closed for the past three years... anyone know what's going on?
  8. Be happy they have a website. The Manhatten and Empire Condos' didn't get a website until construction started and most of the units were alread sold. Randal Davis has been shown to be much more reliable than other developers. He would put that much work into a website unless he was commited to the project. This doesn't mean delays and other red tape issues won't slow it down also. The Pavilions was going to start construction this fall according to the developer, but right now they are just starting permitting and other procedures. Definite timelines are rare unless it is currently being constructed.
  9. Move if already listed. https://www.urbanspacerealtors.com/urbanspace-favs-top-5-ways-to-wind-down-your-summer-2/
  10. Doesn't look like he is flipping it. This flyer says it will be a 125-unit tower https://www.hfflp.com/GetDocument.aspx?ID=102795&FN=Midway+Walmart+Flyer.pdf&DT=1
  11. Billboards along the freeways are one thing, but digital boards playing video are another. Anyone else envision them becoming so distracting that wrecks happen more frequently in proximity to them. A few accidents and lawsuits later I believe this will be re-thought very quickly. But don't expect the campaign against billboards to be easy. Someone is making money off these things, and they wont allow their wallets to get lighter without a fight. They will take on anyone who wants to get these things removed. At the very least they can get rid of billboards that are not along highways... especially the ones near me that we've wanted gone for nearly 20 years and more.... check Buffalo Speedway, between West Alabama and Westheimer, across from the Lamar Tower Condominiums. It's, for the most part, a residential area, leading right into River Oaks... complete with advertising eyesores.
  12. Does anyone have info on the Commerce Towers in Houston? I found a good-sized apartment there for $280,000, and it looks like a great place! What does everyone think of it?
  13. We understand that there is a picture of the Earl of Huntingdon somewhere in the Huntingdon Building. We have contacted the current Earl of Huntingdon who lives nearby, but he knows nothing about it. We woud appreciate if someone could confirm this, or a denial would be useful, and if so could they let us know which Earl of Huntingdon that the picture shows. The Earl of Huntingdon is the Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire and is believed to be descended from Robin Hood. Thank you for any help.
  14. I heard today that all the tenants were told to move out by Sept. This 17 story building is a rental. I wonder of it will be made into condos or what will happen. 15. Always wondered about this building. Today I thought I would stop by and take a few pictures of the elegant condo high rise. Park Square One Condominiums located at 49 Briar Hollow Lane.
  16. Always wondered about these condos. There's a hidden neighborhood over there. Photos I took today.
  17. I would suggest the Montebello, there sales office is located right across from it, in Uptown Park.
  18. I'm hoping that someone here might have a little information about the Beaconsfield. I know the maintenance fees are sky high ($.64 psf), and that the building is the process of having it's original hand operated elevators replaced. If anyone has additional information to add to this I would be highly appreciative. Thanks.
  19. Proposed residential near the U of H. Homes on the site were demolished sometime between April and December of last year. SubdivisionPlatPDF_MATRIX.pdf https://www.google.com/maps/@29.726179,-95.3512149,3a,75y,341.07h,86.11t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sl4IY7774w4wrXrb7O5mRlQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

  21. So its official, the Houston Area will be getting it's first Ritz-Carlton Residences. It's going to be in The Woodlands off Lake Woodlands. I would have preferred it to be in Houston, but maybe this will catalyze a possible future Ritz Carlton hotel for Houston. Either way, great news! https://communityimpact.com/houston/the-woodlands/development/2023/10/12/the-ritz-carlton-residences-announced-for-lake-woodlands-area/
