  3. HOUSTON — Harrison Kane of Rockspring Properties represented the seller of 2.77 acres at 3409 Brinkman St. in the Garden Oaks area just off W. 34th. Along with the land came a 38,000 SF flex building with an ambulance services tenant. The buyer was Braun Enterprises, which plans to redevelop the site in the future. https://realtynewsreport.com/rnr-real-estate-briefs-hou-aus-dal-sat-and-more-14/

According to The Leader: ...People were excited at the announcement last August that Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers signed a contract to open shop at Braun’s forthcoming development at 1919 North Shepherd. At the time Braun, also responsible for Ella Plaza and Harold’s in the Heights, said that there will be space for a few more retailers. The Leader reports Moody Ice will move in: ....Moody Ice, a shaved ice shop with an entrepreneur spirit, will be opening at the site this summer. According to the proprietor, “the possibilities are endless with these fresh ingredients and an assorted cultural influences.”

  11. Driving by I noticed the Chase Bank branch at 3403 Richmond Ave is now closed. This is across the street from 3737 Buffalo Speedway. This is prime real estate! That stretch of Buffalo Speedway could really kick off. The RO, Senterra Richmond, and now this 2-acres. The Loopnet listing has been pulled. Can't find it on CBRE's website either. This has been sold? https://www.loopnet.com/listing/3403-richmond-ave-houston-tx/7729788/
  12. http://www.loopnet.com/Listing/20224122/500-600-Blocks-of-West-19th-20th-Houston-TX/ Ohhhh the potential for that block! I have always wondered what in the world Chase was thinking holding on to that giant retail drive through and oversized bank building in the age of the internet.
  13. Just ran across this by way of a search on HAR: Da Vinci Court They are townhouses in the 1500 block of North Main and apparently is the first project in the Hardy Railyard development. They look very nice. Has anyone been by there lately? Are these already under construction? Well, I just did the virtual tour on the website and it appears that some of them have already been built. Is that correct?
  14. I've always liked the signage to this building. It's arty. https://www.braunenterprises.com/5757-woodway

Note to mods (though it will probably be ignored as my other public requests on this same topic were): please don't move this to the Heights forum where all of my Washington Corridor posts were moved to. Mods, also don't sneak and move this thread and all the others for Washington Corridor, Oak Forest, Garden Oaks, and Independence Heights to the Heights forum once all the previous content is reposted as y'all have done in the last month and continue to do. This is NOT in the Heights and it's not part of the Greater Heights area in any way. This is in the Washington Corridor area, an area that as suggested and advocated for previously needs its own forum because there is lots of development happening here, much spurred by the Sawyer Yards and Buffalo Heights developments. That in itself usually merits the creation for a new neighborhood forum. Until then, posts for those neighborhoods should remain in the forum for "Other Neighbohoods" has is done with other threads that don't have a dedicated neighborhood or area of town forum.Thanks. Last year, Houston Business Journal had an article about renovations coming to 1919 Washington Avenue. The renovation is a joint venture between Baker Katz and Braun Enterprises. Do anyone know more about this? From HBJ: The developer (Braun Enterprises) also closed on a historic building at 1919 Washington Ave. in a joint venture with Houston's Baker Katz earlier this week, too. The owners will renovate the building, which is home to Julep, a popular cocktail bar and Gulf Coast seafood eatery, before any additional tenants move in. The property contains 17,000 square feet of commercial space, of which 12,905 square feet is available. http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2016/09/23/exclusive-fast-growing-retail-developer-scoops-up.html

This was originally in another thread, but after asking around, I don't believe the warehouse at 1005 Sawyer will merge with the old Pig Stand location at 2412. Maybe this deserves its own thread. Something is going to replace this building. Braun Enterprises acquired the warehouse next to Social Junkie at 1005 Sawyer on the corner of Center St. This is located in the Sawyer Heights neighborhood, part of the Washington Corridor area in Houston. There's a filing for 1005 Sawyer LLC too. Any ideas what's being planned here?
  20. Just noticed last night that Chippendale Eastlake Antiques on the corner of 19th and Rutland is gone - space has been cleared out and there is a for lease sign on the front of the building. Anyone know what happened to them? Gone out of business, moved elsewhere, untenable rent increase, or something else? They seemed like a fixture in that spot, and had been there as long as I've been living in the area. I don't think Braun will have much trouble leasing the space, as something that size in the center of activity on 19th doesn't become available very often.

New development, rumored to be a restaurant or bar, taking over the old Chirps Chicken acquired by Braun Enterprises. https://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/6065-restaurant-diversity-in-the-heights/?do=findComment&comment=504222 Saw this last week. I wouldn't mind seeing the whole building come down and something more dense go up in its place, but given our parking requirements we probably don't deserve anything more interesting than a Chipotle. https://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/6065-restaurant-diversity-in-the-heights/?do=findComment&comment=504245 https://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/6065-restaurant-diversity-in-the-heights/?do=findComment&comment=504769 https://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/6065-restaurant-diversity-in-the-heights/?do=findComment&comment=521022
