The surrounding buildings will follow suit. (Photos: Google Maps)

Note to mods (though it will probably be ignored as my other public requests on this same topic were): please don't move this to the Heights forum where all of my Washington Corridor posts were moved to. Mods, also don't sneak and move this thread and all the others for Washington Corridor, Oak Forest, Garden Oaks, and Independence Heights to the Heights forum once all the previous content is reposted as y'all have done in the last month and continue to do. This is NOT in the Heights and it's not part of the Greater Heights area in any way. This is in the Washington Corridor area, an area that as suggested and advocated for previously needs its own forum because there is lots of development happening here, much spurred by the Sawyer Yards and Buffalo Heights developments. That in itself usually merits the creation for a new neighborhood forum. Until then, posts for those neighborhoods should remain in the forum for "Other Neighbohoods" has is done with other threads that don't have a dedicated neighborhood or area of town forum.Thanks. Last year, Houston Business Journal had an article about renovations coming to 1919 Washington Avenue. The renovation is a joint venture between Baker Katz and Braun Enterprises. Do anyone know more about this? From HBJ: The developer (Braun Enterprises) also closed on a historic building at 1919 Washington Ave. in a joint venture with Houston's Baker Katz earlier this week, too. The owners will renovate the building, which is home to Julep, a popular cocktail bar and Gulf Coast seafood eatery, before any additional tenants move in. The property contains 17,000 square feet of commercial space, of which 12,905 square feet is available. http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2016/09/23/exclusive-fast-growing-retail-developer-scoops-up.html

This was originally in another thread, but after asking around, I don't believe the warehouse at 1005 Sawyer will merge with the old Pig Stand location at 2412. Maybe this deserves its own thread. Something is going to replace this building. Braun Enterprises acquired the warehouse next to Social Junkie at 1005 Sawyer on the corner of Center St. This is located in the Sawyer Heights neighborhood, part of the Washington Corridor area in Houston. There's a filing for 1005 Sawyer LLC too. Any ideas what's being planned here?

  10. http://www.bisnow.com/commercial-real-estate/houston/1929-buy-five-redevelop-five-sell-one-million/ This is the old strip center with Cappellini's. Sounds like they will clear out some old tenants from the article, but have not heard anything beyond the vague hints in the link. With four big apartment complexes coming and lots of renovations and new construction in the area, it looks like is time for the retail "other shoe" to drop.
  11. http://www.braunenterprises.com/files/flyer_549943b2-0345-bf75-da9e-5463f91e16b1_2200-yale-november.pdf Looks like they are redeveloping the run down cleaners and Alabama Furniture
  12. http://www.theleadernews.com/?p=9283 Same guys who are doing Harolds. But, they are not going to try to save any part of the church. I just hope the do not put in a strip center type development and make the new development an extension of 19th st shops.
