  8. Does anyone have experience with the senior living memory care facility? I believe this was once called Autumn Leaves but since changed hands? This memory care residential living could come in handly for me in the next 10 to 20 years. I wonder how this stacks up against other memory care, assisted living, and senior living options around town. Although, with the way things are going, I'm sure most children have their ederly parents live with them to save money. I believe senior care is expensive! Although, professionals might do a better job than the kids playing nursing. Thanks Website: https://www.theheritagetexas.com/senior-living/tx/houston/w-bellfort-ave/

Wading Pool. There will also be a kiddie wadding pool and play-ground area. Mr. Dobyanski, a resident of Willowbemd is a member of the the Bellaire Lions, and owns his own business, the Atlas Brace Co., 513 Richmond Avenue, where he has been located since 1950.
  10. I was reading the newspaper The Bellaire Texan and found some old pharmacy advertisements. Willowbend Pharmacy located at 10707 South Post Oak Road / MA 3-2200. Does anyone recall this place? This was when they had "druggists" that actually mixed the medicines together? Looking on Google Maps, this is where the current O'Reilly Auto Parts store is? April 25, 1956: August 10, 1960: "The Pill Wagon" December 5, 1956: Looks like the drug store also had a toy department with trains! Just how big was this place? Seems like it was the size of a current Walgreens or CVS?

  15. Earlier this week I noticed a plan review permit was pulled for an awning replacement. This is for Pine Terrace Apartments located at 3901 Omeara Drive. I wonder who was the original developer and in what decade was this complex built? Has to be somewhere between 1960s and 1980s. Maybe a decade left before the complex is demolished and replaced for something taller, to hold more people? If the 500-acre TMC BioPort gets built, there is a high chance of redevelopment here.
  16. 0.93 Acres and a 2,680 SF building up for grabs. My take, that fits the immediate area? More fast food. Loopnet listing: https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/10232-S-Post-Oak-Rd-Houston-TX/28215669/

Their industrial campus was located at the intersection of South Main Street at Old Main Street Road. A classic intersection for sure!! The campus had 3 buildings, including an office, pump house, and a factory building. I'll see if I can find the campus on Google Earth a bit later.
  21. I was reading the newspaper The Bellaire & Southwestern Texan dated December 11, 1968 and came across a business advertisement for The Egg House located at 11216 South Post Oak Road. What's the story with this company? It would be hard to believe, in 2023, there would be a retail store that only sold eggs. Did the sell dairy as well? Milk, cheese, or yogurt? Looks like the eggs came from Lindsey Farms. The farm, and retail headquarters was located at 11216 S. Post Oak. I know they had a smaller retail store down the block at Willowbend and South Post Oak. I believe they had a total of 7 or 8 locations across the city. I would love to hear more about this company. 23. I was browsing the newspaper The Bellaire & Southwestern Texan dated December 22, 1965 and came across a business advertisement for Snowflake Donut No. 12 located At 10545 South Post Oak Rd. Does anyone recall this chain or donut stores? Or remember this particular location a long South Post Oak? Did Snowflake Donut really have 12+ locations across town? I wonder if Shipley's eventually bought them out? Their ad mentions "across from post office" does that mean there was a post office on South Post Oak near the present-day Krogers? Looks like it would have been where the infamous Meyerland Collision is located at 10532 South Post Oak. That is news to me! 6 A.M. to 10 P.M.
