  1. In case anybody missed it http://youtu.be/Q6NBWj0kovo
  2. looks like this one flew under the radar: http://blog.chron.com/primeproperty/2013/12/office-building-to-replace-galleria-area-wedding-venue/?cmpid=hpts trying to hit the same niche market Hines' is having so much success with at their new San Felipe building across from River Oaks. i think it's a good call - simialr buildings in the area aimed at the ultra-high end clientele such as redstones Houstonian building and Park Laureate remain consistently well-leased with relatively high rates.
  3. Sounds like a high-rise to me...the project will go up along I-610 in Uptown. Listed as North Post Oak Hotel and Residences on the plat tracker. ftp://edrc.houstontx.gov/2013/Applications//2013-3071/SubdivisionPlatPDF_3859-PLAT.pdf
  4. Thanks to lockmat for discovering this one. A Hyatt Regency is planned, but anyone know the exact location? https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=574503485955130&set=pb.453063364765810.-2207520000.1384359537.&type=3&theater
  5. I'll be careful how I describe this location as there are SO MANY banks in this area that it gets confusing (and a bit hysterical). This is along the north side of San Felipe and just east of Garrettson Lane (I got the address by clicking "What is here?" on google maps [to no avail], so it may be inaccurate). Anyway, chain link fence around the site, digging in the back away from San Felipe... it kind of looks like utility work, but I didn't have my binoculars when I was in Panera. The bank has been closed for the past three years... anyone know what's going on?
  6. Bisnow Reports of renovations for 3040 Post Oak, it also states a parking garage will be added. Ziegler Cooper is designing the Renovations. http://www.bisnow.com/commercial-real-estate/houston/four-new-land-trends/
  7. http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/blog/breaking-ground/2013/06/exclusive-even-more-luxury-living-for.html actually got the (late) scoop on this Monday - supposedly several units are already presold. corner of s. post oak and wynden, right down the street from the old masaraf's. man, is the galleria area booming right now or what? there's several other high rise projects in the works scattered all about uptown/galleria. i bet the tanglewood nimby's are fuming right now! /sarcasm
  8. http://blog.chron.com/primeproperty/2012/07/inner-loop-tract-slated-for-huge-mixed-use-project/ Gensler is the architect.
  9. Crescent Real Estate Equities LLC is looking at developing space for retail shops, restaurants, a conference center, cafeteria and fitness facility in front of the 1.2 million-square-foot complex in the Galleria area. The construction idea comes at a time when new commercial developments are popping up all around the 17-acre complex http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/print-edition/2011/07/22/bullish-on-post-oak.html map: http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&cp=nyqxzm71b9x3&lvl=17&dir=0&sty=b&form=LMLTCC
  10. http://www.chron.com...ss/7603762.html I'm curious what a Hines multifamily complex would look like. Here is the 16-story one in Chicago... http://chicago.curbed.com/archives/2011/04/01/demolition-underway-at-old-town-site-construction-imminent.php#n-wells-demolition-6
  11. It seems the site of the old Marquee Apartments on McCue right across Westheimer from the Galleria was sold. There's already a really basic idea of what's going to go up there: They are saying it's going to be a 237 unit apartment building. http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/print-edition/2011/04/29/dinerstein-cracks-galleria-area-with.html This is the same company responsible for Millenium Greenway, that new-ish apartment building that wraps around the Chevron station at Wesleyan and 59. The site is the one that backs up to the 2200 Post Oak site.

    3009 Post Oak

Late 2010 groundbreaking, delivering in 2012 14 stories 300,000 SF LEED Gold Directly across from Waterwall On proposed METRO Uptown line Developed, built, and self-financed by Skanska i dont know how to post the pic so here's a PDF picture, i'm sure someone much smarter than i can post it. 3009 post oak.pdf
  13. I'm in the market for a larger place and being a fan of MCM I've always been interested in 5050 Woodway. Does anyone know anything about this building? I don't know anything about it other than what has been shown in listings in HAR over the years. The maintenance fee seems to be very low for a high rise. That kind of scares me. I wonder if the maintenance on the building is being done as it should be. Current Listing in 5050 Woodway
  14. Turnberry Tower Residences at the Galleria has been cancelled. The Buyers have been notified and employees have been released. I believe this occurred on Wednesday, October 23rd.
  15. gene posted this in the BLVD Place thread in January... http://www.houstonarchitecture.info/haif/i...st&p=225944 Now we have this... http://houston.bizjournals.com/houston/sto...html?ana=e_ph#1 Hopefully it's not premature to post this in the Going Up! section.
  16. I found this project after looking through Emporis located at http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/bu/?id=faulkn...-houston-tx-usa Found it in a bizjournal article also.. http://houston.bizjournals.com/houston/sto.../08/story2.html No renderings anywhere.. This might be listed under a differnt name, but if it is atleast somebody can update Emporis. If this is posted somewhere else plz move thanks =) Thanks, c4smok
  17. There is a rumor about a new project in uptown, thought I heard some rumblings but thought I would test the waters here to see if I am just hearing things.
  18. Anyone know if something is going up on this site? I drove by it tonight and it's cleared with fence surrounding the property.
  19. Drove by a sign today at the Lakes on Post Oak complex near Hidalgo and McCue (across the street from Nordstroms). It appears from the site plan that they are going to place retail into the existing parking garage and and some surrounding the part next to Hidalgo...what do you guys think of the renderings?...and on a sidenote the sign said it was being done by Hermes Architects, but couldn't find anything on their site about this.
  20. There is a fence around a parking lot on the northeast corner of Hidalgo and Post Oak in the Galleria Area. I heard that the lot was recently sold, but does anyone know what is going up or even who purchased it? I went by the Turnberry and no one seemed to know or care... which is strange. It was almost like they played it off as a non-issue. You think they would try to find out if their entire building is going to have all the views to the east blocked. Cheers
  21. News about Starwood: http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/stories...63&hbx=e_du http://www.starwoodhotels.com/alofthotels/...alofthotels_com
  22. HBJ reports that a new set of twins are in the works for Uptown Houston. We have the 40-story Four Leaf Towers; but in the works now is a set of twins 35 stories tall. Any of you guys have renderings? This will definitely impact Uptown Houston's already cool skyline. I wanna see ......
  23. 15-Story Tower on Bancroft Lane and Bettis Drive. https://highland-tower.com/index.html Just drove by the property for the first time in a month or two and I noticed that there were "dirty barriers" up and seems like quite a bit of it was dug up. No other evidence of construction, though.
  24. The Uptown Houston website lists this new project as: A.D. Players Theatre: New construction is planned for a performance theatre at Yorktown and Westheimer. The 85,000 square foot theatre complex will hold three theaters with a total seating of 1,000. The theatre should be complete within three years. The A.D. Players broke ground on the new location February 2006. Do we know any additional information? The AD Players theatre website does not have any information about the architect, renderings, or any other information. This will be a great venue. What else can we find out? -Yak-
