  1. I was in Uptown the other day and saw a unique bank that's sitting on high valued real estate. Here's a photo I took the other week of the Prosperity Bank located at 1101 Post Oak Boulevard.
  2. While driving down South Wynden Drive I came across this fancy brick office building. Here's some photos I took of the building.
  3. This office building in Uptown located at 777 Post Oak Boulevard is home to Old Republic Title. Here's a photo I took the other month.
  4. The law offices of Hudson Partnership located at 35 North Wynden Drive is connected to the Blaffer family. Hudson Bros. Real Estate owns some high-value land down the street a long South Post Oak Lane. I stopped by the other month to take a photo of the street signage and building.
  5. The Junior League of Houston built a new building after moving from downtown. They occupied the building from 1965-1986. The building has since been demolished and built over with luxury apartments.
  6. A Class-B hotel in Uptown is listed for sale. It's not very tall so I wouldn't think this would be a hotel to multifamily conversion. Most likely just a rebranding. https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/6221-Richmond-Ave-Houston-TX/30028758/
  7. Last week I took a few photos of the Hyatt House Houston/Galleria At 3440 Sage Road. Here are the two pictures I took:
  8. This week I learned that Kelsey Seybold had a satellite clinic in one of the three-building Galleria Office Towers. The office complex was originally developed by Hines and is now managed by Colvill Office Properties. Galleria Tower I is at 2700 Post Oak Boulevard. Galleria Tower II is at 5051 Westheimer Road. Galleria Financial Center is at 5065 and 5075 Westheimer Road.
  9. I've driven past the Univision 45 Houston Broadcasting Station located at 5100 Southwest Freeway a thousand times. Never thought about stopping by and taking some pictures of the satellites. Photos from today.
  10. Ernest Bel Fay lived next to his brother Ernest Fay. In the 1920s/1930s they both an 18-acre plot in the Uptown/Memorial area located at 105 North Post Oak Road. Decades later, his house now serves as one of the buildings on The Fay School campus. The "star architect" John F. Staub designed the home. https://www.thefayschool.org/ Here's a photo of the old house back in the 1930s.
  11. I can't find any pictures, or maps, about the old Gerald Hines and R.E. Smith development a long the West Loop South. The building(s) could have been a long San Felipe Street? Perhaps the old business park was the first go-around at The Galleria? I know someone on HAIF has to know more information. Do any of the buildings still exist? Aerial photograph of the Galleria Area from the 1970s.
  12. Finally found a good picture of the Albert Bel Fay house located at 99 North Post Oak Lane. The house was built alongside his brother's mansion, Ernest Bel Fay which is located at 105 North Post Oak Lane. In the 1930s, brothers A.B Fay acquired 8.29 acres while E.B. Fay's site was 7.26-ares. John F. Staub was the architect for both homes. Ernest Fay was a lumberman, while Albert was an oilman. Aerial photograph of both homes. Albert's home was situated on top.
  13. Degeorge Real Estate leases the Woodway Square Retail Center located at 6401 Woodway Drive. Another address for the center is 6531-6543 Woodway Drive. Kelsey Seybold is preparing to open a new clinic here. Kelsey Seybold is expanding at a rapid rate! Seems like every 6 months there's a new clinic opening in the Houston area. https://rejournals.com/kelsey-seybold-clinic-leases-space-in-woodway-square-center-in-houston/
  14. The office building located at 5177 Richmond Avenue has Chase signage, so it may also be called the Chase Building on Richmond. It has been there forever, maybe built in the 1980s? Unusual glass color for the facade. I wonder the occupancy rate? Will it (also) see a residential conversation? Photo I took this weekend. An unusual picture, but I tried to get the infamous Galleria overhead street signs in the picture as well. Richmond at Sage.
  15. Drove down South Wynden Drive today to look around the surrounding neighborhood. Found a few old ranch houses that don't fit the neighborhood. One home at 32 South Wynden sits on a massive lot! This is (or was?) being marketed for sale by Martha Turner Sotheby's International Realty. Unrestricted lot - Residential * Commercial. Lot Size: 40,812 Sq Ft. Photo I took today:
  16. This is such an iconic apartment complex. It's an old school 2-story garden complex in the heart of Uptown. I wonder who the original developer was? The Farb Companies, Finger Companies, Martin Fein Interests, or The Dinerstein Companies? Here's a photo I took yesterday.
  17. Today I found some very nice looking apartments on McCue road. The design and colors are very elegant and remind me of a condominium or town home community. Also a hidden gem in in the Uptown multifamily market. Located off Richmond and McCue towards Highway 59. I wonder the architect. The design and condition of the building looks like it was built within the past 10 to 20 years. 2005-ish? Looking around, I see the Houston Housing Authority wanted to acquire this property from the owner/developer Post Properties.
  18. I drove by this multifamily apartment complex today. I never knew it existed. I wonder if anyone on HAIF has ever lived here? Definitely a hidden gem. Tucked away off Richmond and McCue towards Highway 59. Property website: https://www.galleriaparc.com/ Here's the photo I took today.
  19. There is a small Chase bank located next door to the Four Leaf Towers and also the Aspire Post Oak tower. The small bank is on the corner of a larger retail parcel. I can only imagine, in due time, that small Chase parcel will be will be sold and combined with the retail parcel for a mixed-use residential development. Chase could have a small branch, or ATM, on the ground floor of the new tower! Give it 10 years.
  20. I don't think this Wells Fargo Bank located at 4906 San Felipe Street, shares the same parcel as the next door, infamous BancorpSouth Center? I once read on HAIF, maybe 10 years ago, that Uptown/River Oaks has a lot of banks because it's a wealthy neighborhood. Rich people visit banks more often. When will this unique, kinda small, parcel be developed into something taller?
  21. I've always wanted to create this thread but never have. Has anyone ever shopped for their designer furniture at Roch Bobis? While located at 4810 San Felipe Street, I've passed by it a thousand times but never went inside. When will this small retail building be demolished for something taller? This is prime Uptown real estate! I'm the parcel can contain something that would be a higher density use.
  22. I was wondering if anyone knew the original architect for this early 1980s office building located on San Felipe in Uptown. All I can find is the most recent remodel architect.
  23. Came across this 1959/1960 photo of a barren area of the southwest freeway construction. Looking outbound toward Post Oak Blvd. at Westpark Dr. In one parcel of land, located off McCue Road, there is a mansion all by itself. Does anyone know whose house this was?
  24. Came across this arcade token on Ebay. Does anyone recall the game room located at 5146 Richmond? I believe this would be located in the (present day) shopping center across from Best Buy? The retail center with the Spec's Liquors, Alta Beauty, etc. etc. Can we date this business? I'd say 1960s or 1970s? Just a guess, no clue really. The Wiz Gameroom 5146 Richmond Houston, TX
  25. While looking at the Briar Hollow Estates plat map, I noticed San Felipe Farms near Buffalo Bayou, across from Memorial Park. The subdivision plate is dated December 1938. San Felipe Farms would have been 84 acres. What's this about? Rice fields? Would love to know more.
