The different buildings a long Fannin Street are a little hard to tell apart. The area is so dense that all the buildings just blend right in together. Looking at the engravement in the brick in the front of the building, this is the Houston Methodist The Roy And Lillie Cullen Eye Institute located at 6565 Fannin Street. Established and built in 1971, with the donation gift of the Cullen family. Here are two photos of the building I took last weekend:

Another Memorial Hermann hospital that isn't well known (in the architecture world) is the Jones Pavilion named after Jesse H. Jones. Kind of a brutalist design, not much to it. It does feel imposing, it's a large building. Here is a photo I took yesterday. It's the tower.

I actually did not know the original 1925 Hermann Hospital is still standing. The building is covered up, or hidden, by the Heart & Vascular Institute. Last week, I tried to take a photo of the building but I couldn't see it at the time. Original, from the 1920s: 2024, satellite view:

The MD Anderson Clinical Research Building At 6767 Bertner Avenue has a very distinct topping on the roof. I've been looking at the copper? features for years and never knew the name of the building. Today I finally figured out the building's name. I wonder what they're for? Also, what's the small building in front? I would assume a garage, but I believe it's a supportive plant for the building?

Built in the 1960s, and designed by MacKie and Kamrath, the dental school was now named University of Texas Dental School and was located in Texas Medical Center. Here's a few photos of the building upon demolition. It was a sad demolition to watch!

The library bulding has 3 different names. Orignally called the Jesse H. Jones Library. Took these photos this past week. The street signage and building signage still has Jesse H. Jones name. It's currently called the Texas Medical Center Library though.

Announced in the Houston Business Journal Today: http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/morning_call/2014/11/texas-childrens-hospital-to-expand-tower-in-the.html This should nicely add to the Medical Center skyline. I hope they keep with the practice of having lighting features as many of the taller structures in the TMC do.
