  1. 5.4-Acres of Land on San Felipe Street & Woodway Drive. Google Satellite has the following addresses on the vacant parcel: 7503 San Felipe Street 7709 San Felipe Street 7715 San Felipe Street 7727 San Felipe Street Seniors' condo to be built at Memorial Villages Houston Business Journal - 12:59 PM CST Mondayby Allison WollamHouston Business Journal http://www.thesterlingseniorcondo.com/memorialvillage/images/photo_rendering.jpg Sunrise Senior Living is planning the first high-rise condominium inside Beltway 8 to offer home ownership exclusively for seniors. The 27-story Sterling at Memorial Villages will be located on the west side of Voss between San Felipe and Woodway, near the upscale neighborhoods of Memorial Villages, Briargrove and Tanglewood. The high-rise, to open in June 2010, will feature 166 residences that will be priced from the high $400,000s. One-, two- and three-bedroom condominium options are available, ranging from approximately 950 square feet to 2,200 square feet. http://houston.bizjournals.com/houston/sto...tml?jst=b_ln_hl
  2. The Harris County Medical Examiner sent over another flyer for another unknown dead person. This one looks like a teen-ager. If you know who he is, give the police a call. (Note -- there's a picture of the dead guy in the flyer, so if you're squeamish about seeing dead people, don't open the attachment.) ML08_4173.pdf
  3. I don't really see how this could have gotten by anyone but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Please merge if it already exists. 2525 Voss http://www.meekspartners.com/projects_deta...oards&pos=3 http://www.broadstone2525.com/ http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/stories.../11/story7.html renderings: http://www.meekspartners.com/detpics.cfm?p...d=335&pos=4

  5. I'm in the market for a larger place and being a fan of MCM I've always been interested in 5050 Woodway. Does anyone know anything about this building? I don't know anything about it other than what has been shown in listings in HAR over the years. The maintenance fee seems to be very low for a high rise. That kind of scares me. I wonder if the maintenance on the building is being done as it should be. Current Listing in 5050 Woodway
  6. Woodway Place II: Condominiums At 651 Bering Drive We are moving to Houston and are looking at the NOTTINGHAM COUNTRY area at Fry & I10. I'll be driving to Woodway and 610 and would like to be in the office at 7:30 and will leave about 5:30. With the construction finished on the 10 what are the approximate commute times I could expect?
  7. http://www.har.com/7475233 I tried to email this realtor to ask if they'd like to be a mod of the month earlier in the month, but never heard back. Well, it's open this Sunday, so go if you can... Jason

  10. Wanted to let y'all know that Martha Turner's in house magazine Properties has a page long article about Preston Bolton that's worth checking out. It's not up on their website yet, though.
  11. I was searching for a new breakfast place to eat on sunday, and didnt want to go to LePeep, LaMadeline, or my favorite Buffalo Grill on buffalo speedway. My girlfriend and I did some searching around and we found a place that was ranked really well by Citysearch, Fountain View Cafe, near San Felipe and Fountain View. This place had a great atmosphere, a classic 60's, 70's interior decor, warm friendly employees, and the food was great. I had eggs, hash browns, and a muffin. My brother had biscuits and gravy that were legendary, and my girlfriend had french toast. We really enjoyed it, and I just wanted to share my experience about it with you guys! Sorry, dont have any photos to share!
  12. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r85/zoomanderson/DSC_0065copy.jpg http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r85/zoomanderson/DSC_0067copy.jpg HCAD lists this house on Crabb Orchard Rd. as belonging to Mrs. Walter P. Moore Sr. in the 80's. (Google the name Walter P. Moore if you don't recognize it.) Once again the architect is unknown, but it looks like something Wilson, Morris, Crain & Anderson would do. Note the large canopy in the back. In covers an indoor swimming pool, which is visible from MSN Live maps. Saw a port-o-can in the driveway this morning, so that means rennovation or restoration. I'd love to see inside.
  13. This advertisement was in the June 1975 issue of Houston Home & Garden magazine. The same units are going for $215,000 up to $329,000. The Woodway was built in 1974. You can peruse the units for sale at http://www.har.com/highrisefinder/dispHighriseDetail.cfm. http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n94/enviromain/lastscan3.jpg
  14. My old college roomate is considering buying a place in this complex on Augusta (between Westheimer and San Felipe). It seems well maintained, quiet, and landscaped. Can anyone tell me more about this complex? Quality of the construction, history, mgmt company, safety, etc.? Thanks.
  15. I was driving into town yesterday and notice a new construction crane off of woodway. It looked to be about 20 stories high. Can anyone tell me what this is for?
  16. Nice article on a new development in the Up-Town area. http://www.bizjournals.com/bizspace/housto...tory_id=1176985 The property is located at: here I thought the comment on Houston's good ol' laissez faire property development in lieu of legislative land use restrictions was interesting. It was just one of those things you knew, but hadn't really thought of it that way.
  17. 9:27 AM CST Wednesday 3-2-05 Park At Voss renovation complete Allison Wollam Houston Business Journal The $4.8 million renovation of one of Houston's most notable apartment communities, Park At Voss, is complete. The extensive renovation allowed for the addition of a business center, two conference rooms, a coffee bar, a covered outdoor kitchen and an expanded fitness center with new fitness equipment. All of the apartments have also been updated and many of them now offer wood flooring, new appliances and a painted accent wall in one of eight colors. The property's 12 elevators have been modernized and updated, and each of the 12 buildings that comprise the development have added modern features such as keypad entrances and glass door-enclosed hallways. Built in 1972, the development sits near the intersection of Voss and Westheimer. Park At Voss is owned by Sterling American Property Inc., a New York-based real estate owner and developer with its Houston office located within the property. Paula Newton, the property's asset manager, says the complex had a long history as corporate apartments under the name Oakwood Apartments, and the company polled the residents to determine their preferences to ensure it was on track with what Houstonians would want in an upscale apartment community. Park At Voss continues to provide many businesses in Houston with corporate housing, but a majority of its residents call the property home, adds Newton.
