  1. I've been here a lot lately. Loving Rustika Cafe & Bakery, Thai Bistro, and 100% Taquito. The shopping center has a great view of Greenway Plaza and Upper Kirby. Just wanted to make a thread for future happenings. https://davisholdingslp.com/summit-square-entry/
  2. This shopping center is at Buffalo Speedway & Westpark. Across the street from H-E-B. This center is anchored by Kroger. Noticed Vietopia vacated their spot after a decade. They are now located at the Southwest Freeway service road by Whataburger. Went to eat there last night. Same great food! Definitely a smaller footprint. Probably had to downsize due to Covid. Found an old drawing from the realtor's website. http://www.rhsint.com/plaza-in-the-park.html
  3. Noticed some activity here today.
  4. My old boss did plans for this shopping center back in the 80s or 90s. I also helped with the drawings for the Chase bank addition on the corner. This shopping center is anchored by the famous Belden's Supermarket.
  5. This shopping center located at 5400 - 6810 Bellaire Blvd. has some history. First opened in February 1956. I've been visiting this center a lot lately. Bernie's Burger Bus is addicting! Figured I'd make a thread to keep track of the comings & goings. https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/5400-6810-Bellaire-Blvd-Bellaire-TX/11995514/

  8. One day this shopping center will be redeveloped, so we may as well start this thread now. My guess is they will hold out until there is very little or no other places to redevelop along Post Oak. As of now, HCAD lists the the property valuation at $101 million. By comparison, an undeveloped block in the heart of downtown is $25 mil. Capitol Tower is listed as $125 mil. I can only imagine what they'll have to build to meet the land's value. As mentioned in the Galleria Green Space thread I started, I hope it includes a park. My personal dream is a north/sou

  10. Not surprising. It would only have made sense to try to re-open it if they could double-decker it and that might not have been worth the investment. From discussions on Next Door it seems quite a few homeowners in Meyerland are hoping for a Fema buyout offer and the population of the neighborhood is probably going to decline. A thread on Next Door today says a new 85,000 sq. ft. location with Kosher bakery and deli will be announced by the end of the month. Another poster says the deal is not final but close. That's 'new' and 'to be announced' so presumably it's some

  14. Is there a thread for this? This is North of Wesheimer, west of teh Azalea Court project. From the Houston Chronicle: Crapitto’s Cucina Italiana will serve its last supper May 24. In an email blast to its customers, Frank Crapitto wrote: “Our building (like the others around it) is scheduled to be torn down, so it is with great sadness that, after 19 years, Crapitto’s Cucina Italiana will serve its last supper on Saturday, May 24th. We hope to see you one last time (or a few last times) over the next week.”
  15. http://www.houstonlocalfoods.com/ grand opening tomorrow on westheimer and kirby in the old taco milagro location and this new Local Foods location will have an extended menu, FULL bar and open later until 9pm! cannot wait!

  19. BisNow must have an ice cream headache, because it has another scoop; this time that groundbreaking is scheduled to happen in Janaury, 2013 for Vintage Marketplace, part of The Vintage development. 20. http://swamplot.com/doctors-without-borders-kelsey-seybold-clinic-taking-over-pole-position-at-meyerland-plaza/2012-07-18/ where are there other examples of medical biz setting up new facilities to cash in on the affordable care act? Either in previuosly underserved areas, or currently well served areas?
  21. Swamplot Worst news for 95% of my online shopping. I am not voting for Susan Combs come next election.
  22. Construction of a new shopping center is now underway the intersection of FM 1093 and Spring Creek Boulevard. http://blog.chron.co...y-way-out-west/ More from the HBJ... http://www.bizjourna...-retail-in.html Taking a guess that the "Houston-based sporting goods store" would be a Sun & Ski location...
  23. Saw the sign for this when I was going home yesterday. Seems a bit underwhelming. Wasn't this site being considered for the soccer statium at one point? http://docs.newquest.com/brochures/uptown-crossing.pdf
  24. The headline to Lisa Gray's recent article in the Houston Chronicle regarding the alterations to River Oaks Plaza says it best: Beige, Blotchy and Bland. Quote:"The snappy black-and-white buildings are turning beige. Fake stucco and more of that blotchy sandstone are covering the nifty old bricks. Above the building's canopies, new, taller parapet facades screw up the once-low-slung center's proportions, and allow more room for bigger, brighter signs." I'm with you, Lisa, and am stunned that anyone feels that this botched-up job is in any way an improvement. (If there's an existing thread on
