  1. Proposed plat. Developer listed as D’Agostino Multifamily, LLC. It appears to be a storage lot for cars but D'Angostino builds apartments. HCAD ownership. https://dagostinocompanies.com Looking at D'Angostino portfolio they do build storage buildings.
  2. Looking for a bit of history on the Chase bank in the Greenway area off of US 59 and Buffalo Speedway. It has the gold dome and I remember back when the Rockets were winning championships they covered the dome with a Basketball tarp. Anyway, I am looking for the origins of this building just for my own curious reasons.

  5. I know there has been a lot of vacant land in this area up until recently, but the neighboring single story storage facilities seem like such a massive waste of real estate. Discount mini storage (9419 Buffalo Speedway) alone has about 5 acres of land. Unfortunately, this stretch of South Main is littered with them

  11. Anyone have experience with this mom and pop self storage? I believe the MC Management family developed this. I wonder how this differs from the big self storage companies in town. Website: https://www.meyerparkstorage.com/
  12. Multi-story self storage will soon take over another parking lot in downtown. Less than 2 blocks away from the new U-Haul building.
  13. Does anyone know if the Resurrection Life Fellowship building at 730 E. 11th - not too far west of the instersection of 11th and Studewood - was once a movie theater? And, if so, what it was called? I'll post this in the Heights subforum for now, but if a moderator wants to move it to Historic Houston, that's fine by me. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3134/3087129975_5dc65e5c09_b.jpg
  14. This is one of the Mitchell (Michael) Louis Westheimer's companies. Westheimer storage was founded in the late 1800's. I was doing some research on Mr. Westeimer, he had a lot of companies! I almost bought some antiques on Ebay I stopped by the other day to snap a picture. I wonder if this is the last standing modern-day building of theirs. The family no longer owns it. The family sold the company some 50-years ago.
  15. I've been seeing this crane from a distance for a while, now I know what it's building.
  16. I saw a city permit yesterday pulled for a new wall. 3106 Old Spanish Trl 77054

  18. So, I was walking down W Main St., after a workout, and right next to the new midrise/ townhouse development, which is going up in the area, there was demolition of two houses and possibly the other two that lead up to Weslayan St. I'm sure swamplot had them in a demolition report at some point, but was immediately curious what might take their place. If all 4 of those houses go then certainly some sort of mini midrise or large townhomes will replace these. Any idea what's up? Sorry I don't have any pictures.
  19. Not significant enough for going up, but a large 4 story steel building is going up across from MacGregor park. And by steel, I mean steel - I haven't seen any concrete in it at all
  20. I was riding my bike down W Holcombe Blvd (just west of TMC) and I came across this: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y28/march4marc/2011-05-22_16-24-36_954.jpg?t=1306128884 Anyone have any clue what it is? It's on Holcombe between Morningside Dr and Kelvin Dr. I looked up the location on Google Earth and it appears a red-roofed building was there before. The lot is extremely small so I was surprised by the crane that was there.
