Today I noticed a For Sale sign that said 1.58-Acres For Sale. The parcel is located across the street from 6017 Ardmore Street. The realty company listed is Integral Properties, Inc.

We didn't have a thread for this TMC campus. There is one, oddly shaped, parcel left for development. The parcel is vacant and is next to Highway 288. There is also the TMC surface lot (LAV Lot) that will be developed within time as space runs out. Tenants/Buildings of the Leland Anderson Campus includes: Texas Hearing Institute At 3100 Shenandoah St. Texas Medical Center Surface Parking Lot (LAV Lot) with an (incorrect) address of 3002 S. MacGregor Way The Rise School At 5618 H. Mark Crosswell, Jr. St. UTHealth Harris County Psychiatric Center At 2800 S. MacGregor Way UTHealth John Dunn Behavioral Sciences Center At 5615 H. Mark Crosswell Jr. St. YMCA Texas Medical Center At 5614 H. Mark Crosswell Jr. St. The campus was formally home to: METRO pickup/drop off surface lot At 5615 H. Mark Crosswell Jr. St. Michael E. DeBakey High School For Health Professions At 3100 Shenandoah St.

Fuddruckers At 2400 S. Macgregor Way
Texasota posted a topic in Third Ward and University of Houston
The intersection of MacGregor and Almeda is in dire need of some retail though. I know there's the gas station and a couple spots in the Mosaic, but there's a bunch of apartments nearby already. A little market would be nice. Maybe a deli/ taqueria. Coffee shop. Nothing too fancy... but at least a little bit fancy.- 8 replies

Weingarten/Lavinghousez Mansion - Natural Burial Cemetery? Saw this bulletin over the weekend surrounding the Kuhlmann Family Cemetery. Apparently, Terry Ward is trying to buy both adjacent properties and transform everything into a "Remembrance Park". Anyone have any insider scoop? http://indigofields.com/

I was reading an article in the newspaper The Jewish Herald-Voice dated October 11, 1951. There was a club hall located in an previously-occupied business called Washburn Venetian Blind Co. Frisch-Jacobs BBYW Get your party together now, and plan to attend he Frisch-Jacobs Mask Parade Dance on Halloween night, October 31, at Washburn Hall. Prizes will be award for the most original costumes . . . and all are asked o wear masks. Reservations can be made for a table, for your party, by calling Sally Schalit, OL-9916, before Oct. 31. Washburn Hall is easily found on Peerless, off O.S.T. (or behind Al's Bar near Holcombe and O.S.T. Intersections). Before the club hall, there was the business: From the newspaper The Southwest Citizen dated November 3, 1949. Then she called Bob Garner. He was working at the Palladium Ballroom, at 3145 Southmore Blvd. tonight. It was Don Robey’s club, and the leading R&B and Soul Club in Houston. She told Bob about my arrival, and she also promised me free discs.

Does anyone have any information or at least the name of the 1950s venue? Its demolition due to construction of 288 led to the late 1970s? article in the Post or Chronicle It must have been a major stop for bands on the rise. In the 1960s it continued as a major touring venue known as the Cinder Club perhaps concurrent with the Motown era.It was so long ago I may not have all details correct. Is this connected to the rumor-fact of Bill Haley living in the Menil Collection area in the early 1950s?

I was trying to find info about this Houston based company. The owner of Parker Brothers owned a house in Riverside Terrace that has been owned by members of my extended family since the late 60s. For years, I noticed that one of the bathrooms had a tug boat outline designed into the floor pattern, but never knew why. I was told that Parker Brothers owned a concrete company, and I've found a photo of a Parker Brothers Sand and Gravel Building on Navigation, but I've also found results for Parker Brothers Shipyard. That would explain the tug boat outline in the bathroom floor. Were the two companies owned by the same person?

Never seen this mentioned on HAIF so I thought I would contribute. After Googling, it appears the name of the church has since changed. The church is now called River Side United Methodist Church. Looks like the original buildings still stand! Awesome!! Does anyone know the architect? Riverside Methodist Church, located in one of the beautiful residential sections of Houston at the North MacGregor Way and Cullen Boulevard, is just off the campus of the University of Houston. Organized in 1939, it is now one of the leading and fast growing churches of Houston, and is making a splendid contribution to the spiritual life in the city. Its present membership is over 1200. Dear Friend: We are happy that you came to worship in our church recently. You are cordially invited to come again. Sincerely yours, A. Grady Hallowguist Minister

I was browsing the newspaper The Bellaire Texan dated December 22, 1959 and noticed an article that contained the listing for Pickwick Apartments located at 6622 Ardmore Street. This is across the street from the present-day Levit Green development. Does anyone know more information about this multifamily apartment complex? When was it built? Who was the architect? Who was the developer? Any pictures of this building?

I live across the bayou from these apartments located at 3200 N. MacGregor and Sampson and noticed a few nights ago that it was completely dark at night. No lights whatsoever. I thought it was a power outage until I drove by and saw the parking lot was empty except for 2 cars. I guess they've been abandoned. Did they get bought out or are they undergoing renovations or what?

New plat that was approved. Looks like it could be a small apartment project. Edit: Apparently it wasn't approved because it's still up for the next Planning Commission meeting.
