  1. Seeking someone who is passionate about green design and the green movement to work part time at New Living (www.newliving.net), a green home and supply store that just opened in Rice Village. This is a very exciting opportunity for someone with a dynamic personality to be a part of something meaningful! This may be a good fit for a student on the weekends and during free time. As a green general store, our mission at New Living is to help our customers make responsible, healthy, eco-friendly decisions when selecting everyday home essentials. Our products help create cleaner homes, healthier neighborhoods, and greener communities. You can read a recent story in the Houston Business Journal here: http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/stories...ml?ana=from_rss Please email a resume and come by the store anytime and ask for Jeff. We are located inside Wagner Hardware at 6111 Kirby Drive near Times. 713-521-1921
  2. This place was on University Blvd. back in the mid 80s when I worked in the Medical Center. Believe it was close to Morningside - anyone remember the name of this place?
  3. My dad worked at the Village Theater while he was in high school in the early 40s. He took these pictures from the roof. I have seen these many times and never realized what they were until today. I thought I'd post them here in case anyone is interested in seeing how different University Blvd. looked over 65 years ago.
  4. A girlfriend of mine is trying to find the name of a club from about 1970 where she saw 3 Dog Night on perhaps Kirby near the 59? It was upstairs and it seems she remembers blue lights on the stage that could be seen from outside. One person recalls something about the Vault and a bank building. Being from Pasadena (now in Calif.), she went to a club in Pasadena like that called the Vault. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
  5. The only green space that's close is tiny Fleming Park on Sunset at Kent. Of course Rice and Hermann Park are nearby.
  6. I noticed yesterday when I was driving that there was some construction on Kirby between the 59 and Bissonnet (closer to Bissonnet). As I drove towards the Village, it was on my left side, but I wasn't able to make out the signs. I was wondering if anybody knows what's going on over there.
  7. Does anyone know anything about this project conversion. Other than what is on the website?
