  1. Silver Star Properties, a Houston real estate investment trust, is in the process of selling the 106,000-square-foot Garden Oaks Shopping Center at Shepherd and Garden Oaks Boulevard that also is home to Planet Fitness and Dollar Tree, a JLL spokesperson said. A closing date on the property, which hit the market in April 2023, hasn't been established. Built in 1956, the shopping center is 96% occupied, according to JLL’s website, with Aldi signed for about another 16 years. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/real-estate/article/aldi-retail-center-garden-oaks-sells-houston-18626365.php
  2. A Hard Rock Hotel & Residences is proposed for the southern end of Uptown, Sage Road & South Rice Avenue (3500 Sage Rd.) SubdivisionPlatPDF_Hard Rock Hotels And Condominiums-Sheet 1 - PP.pdf
  3. http://www.theleadernews.com/?p=9283 Same guys who are doing Harolds. But, they are not going to try to save any part of the church. I just hope the do not put in a strip center type development and make the new development an extension of 19th st shops.
  4. I searched for a thread in this but didn't see one. The realtor has for years put up all these signs saying it's back. To me, this is certainly a place for apts and GFR. Why, in this market is the shopping center dead except for Amy's Ice Cream and Freebirds? I would post a photo of it but don't know how yet.
  5. Saw a sign from Ancorian in front of the blue building on the corner of McKinney + Palmer Street. Any idea what this will be? Ancorian's website doesn't have it listed.
  6. New sign up for the lot behind Arabella at the SE corner of San Felipe and Post Oak Park Dr (aka the Target parking lot access road).
  7. I've always wondered about the business Bar2200. Anyone ever been? Looks kind of gaudy. The office tower has building signage for the Mattioli Lasik Vision of Mattioli Vision Professionals by IQ Laser Vision. Took these photos today.
  8. This thread was originally created January 17, 2016. I'm reposting / reupping this because this post and other content from me are no longer available on the forum. An archive link will be posted soon. The 60,000 SF warehouse in Houston's Second Ward at 2339 Commerce may be redeveloped into a mixed-use development, retail or residential. 2339 Commerce St is listed as an upcoming project on Ancorian's website: http://www.ancorian.com/project/2339-commerce/ 2339 Commerce is a 60,000 SF redevelopment project located in Houston’s rapidly gentrifying east downtown neighborhood. 2339 sits in the shadows of downtown Houston and provides an eclectic value option for downtown office users.
  9. Looks like a residential high-rise is (well, more likely was) planned for 3030 Travis St. Sometime between Jan. 2015 and Aug. 2015 the owners removed all leasing information from the strip center that sits on the site. I was going to dump this in the Houston: Potential thread but there appears to be some intent to build here, just may happen later rather than sooner. http://www.estudioarchitecture.com/# Street View: https://www.google.com/maps/place/3030+travis+st+houston+tx/@29.7429346,-95.3773422,3a,75y,323.82h,90t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m4!1s0XnkosqAYDeJkmiJkWPijg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0xc2661e4e68979a77!6m1!1e1
  10. I noticed a new sushi restaurant under construction on Travis (across from Escobar). here is their myspace: http://www.myspace.com/facuz and official webpage: http://www.wecravesushi.com/
  11. Looks like it sold recently. A crew was doing a pretty thorough interior demo this morning. No idea what is going in, but would assume they are keeping the structure in place to take advantage of the setbacks (or lack thereof). https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/3400-White-Oak-Dr-Houston-TX/26494761/
  12. I've heard talk about the Fuddruckers in Greenway Plaza at 3929 Southwest Freeway has been closed. This weekend I saw a Lovett Commercial sign posted in front of the property. Lovett wants to split this parcel into 2 pads. https://www.lovettcommercial.com/properties/houston/greenway Here's the photos I took.

Previously posted in the Lack of Restaurant Diversity thread but deserves its own thread so we can all keep up with updates in one place. 14. Had some extra time this weekend so I thought I would stop by this retail center and take some pictures. This is where the new Vietopia is located. Outstanding food! Duwest Realty is leasing this one. Love the location as you can see the Greenway Plaza skyline. This is sort of a high-profile retail center. Photos I took this weekend.

  16. There was discussion about this 1.87-acres of land in the Hanover River Oaks thread. Fresh on Loopnet, listing created yesterday. https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/2801-Kirby-Dr-Houston-TX/21177891/ Approximately 4,500 SF building with three drive-thru lanes on 1.87 acres of land.In the highly desirable Upper Kirby District between Westheimer Rd and Richmond Ave. Available January 2021. Will consider dividing building. Do not disturb occupant.
  17. The current renovation of this location is damn ugly in my opinion. The location is at 502 Main (corner of Main and Prarie) in the former Crazyhorse Cantina location. I know that is an ideal location for a fantastic bar or restaurant. The architectural elements are there unfortunately covered by what it appears to be plywood. The name of the bar looks like it was cut out by a junior high shop class using a table saw. The place seems to have a huge potential if some investor would spend some money on renovation rather than cheap crap that been there in the last few years. I have also heard the food was crappy. Thoughts/Opinions?

  19. Not technically the Heights....but couldn't find another area to put this. Houston restaurant co. to open ZZ Top-themed Tex-Mex joint By Laura Gillespie – Reporter, Houston Business Journal 4 hours ago Tres Amigos Café y Cantina will replace Shepherd Park Draught House at 3402 N. Shepherd Drive April 22. Ken Bridge, CEO of Delicious Concepts Restaurant Group, which owns both concepts, is turning the draught house into a ZZ Top-themed Tex-Mex restaurant, showcasing Bridge’s extensive collection of ZZ Top memorabilia. Stewart Skloss, founder of Pura Vida Tequila, as well as ZZ Top frontman Billy Gibbons, both helped come up with the idea for the restaurant, but they have no ownership in it. Tres Amigos will serve classic Tex-Mex, with combo plates, tacos, burritos, weekend tamales, queso and more. On the drinks side, it will have margaritas with Pura Vida tequila and Mexican beer. The 1,500-square-foot space will be redecorated to show off Bridge’s ZZ Top memorabilia from floor to ceiling, but otherwise will be relatively unchanged. The inside seats 40 to 45, with another handful of tables on the patio. The current concept features punk, pop and rock memorabilia pieces from Bridge's collection. Bridge, who just announced the transition of his concept Ritual into Mapojeong Galbijib, a Korean barbecue restaurant, said he likes to change up concepts as he comes up with new, progressive directions. “We’re all ready for a new frontier; I think we’re all ready for a change. For us as a company, and for me personally, I’m ready to change things up and push forward,” Bridge said. “I’ve always wanted to do Korean barbecue, people who know me know that.” Bridge says he's ZZ Top’s No. 1 fan. He began collecting memorabilia for the bearded Houston-born rock band when he was a child; his first piece was a poster he won at a carnival game while living in Arizona. “I call it collecting, my wife calls it hoarding,” Bridge said. “I just became obsessed, not just with ZZ Top.” In honor of Skloss, Gibbons and Bridge’s friendship, the company says, 75% of restaurant proceeds will go to the St. Jude Foundation, with which Gibbons has worked closely over the years. “(My wife) Christina and I are absolutely thrilled to be supporting such an amazing organization and to continue to give back to those in our company who have contributed so much to our success over the years,” Bridge said in a statement. by HBJ.

  24. Thanks for posting that great pic Subdude! I remember I had posted it in the old forum but had since forgotten what website it came from. I believe the Tidelands and Tides II were torn down during the late 90's to be replaced with surface parking lots for the Med Center I always liked those old buildings.
