  1. I am trying to find out who the original architects of the Park Towers office buildings were. They are located at 1233 and 1333 West Loop South. Orignially they were a brick type facade with arched windows but some time ago the buildings were gutted and totally remodeled into the glass towers you see today. I would like to find the original architect's identity as I have heard stories it was designed by a friend's father who passed away just as the buildings were being completed and so far I have reached a dead end on the research. Inquiries I made to Kirksey Co. who did the remodel went una

  4. Looked everywhere for this one. There was one mention in the Camp Strake thread. Its massive enough to have its own mega thread, but way to far out to be in "Going Up". Since we don't have a dedicated Woodlands, Spring, and Anything Further Out subforum, I'll be posting this here. Originally conceived in 2015 this one has taken awhile to get going (possibly due to Harvey), but have already started on phase 1 which is mostly low-rise residential and big box stores, which is something we don't touch on this forum. Its the "Urban Living", "Town Center" and "Business Center" that would get our att

  8. Been in Houston a lot recently and a vacant lot that looks like it used to be a restaurant has captured my attention. The building was razed sometime around 2007, and attempts to find an address or the name of this have been elusive. The biggest clue left behind is a large sign that is only partially blacked out ("J***'s") but other than that, I got nothing. Makes me wonder if it closed LONG before it was demolished. https://www.google.com/maps/@29.7452381,-95.4566661,3a,75y,49.4h,101.37t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s0ttV4oF1bS5wuhThn1wA5A!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
  9. Maybe I am posting this in the wrong section, but I live in Meyerland and I have often wondered why we do not have a Super Walmart in the SW Houston/Meyerland area. We have a normal Walmart off of South Post Oak and 610 (which is always REALLY crowded), but not a Super WM. Anyone else think there needs to be one?
  10. The Women's Hospital of Texas is leasing a space in this shopping center.
  11. It's officially for sale: See full article: http://houston.bizjournals.com/houston/sto...tml?jst=b_ln_hl
  12. Plat filed for the eastern half of lot that currently has the office building containing the Maritime museum and Andes Cafe on 2311 Canal St., so only the portion currently empty is covered. This entire property along with the one across the street bounded by Canal, Navigation, Runnels and the RR are owned by Midway (listed as KBRN on HCAD, same as East River). Both are highlighted in the attached picture. Judging by the shape I am thinking mid rise apartments, hopefully with some mixed use fronting Navigation. Anyone have additional info? Could this be the start of a larger "Gatew

  17. Is this guy b.s. or what? I haven't heard anything about it: "Dudes and Ladies, I was very upset when I heard from a business owner in River Oaks Plaza that later this year, early next, they are getting rid of the theater to put in a 30 story high-rise. word is, they are axing black eyed pea too, for a multi-level parking garage." You can read the rest here: http://members.boardhost.com/hands_up/msg/1151627265.html Anyone know anything?
  18. I know a thread for Westbury Square was started but I think I might have been a bit late getting to it. In that thread I mentioned yesterday that for the first time I went back there to visit a coffee shop that just started up a couple of months ago. Yesterday was really the very first time I stepped foot back on their turf. It's weird to see it now, when you remember many things about it then. Today it looks almost like a ghost town to see whats left, yet I believe the coffee shop might bring some extra life back into it! If you wish to stop there for a visit, here is a phone # 713-728-JAVA W
